A convicted sex offender who told police he was feeling an urge to offend again took a fillet knife to his testicles in an attempt to castrate himself Sunday night. The 59-year-old man, who lives in the 1600 block of Seven Pines Road, was bleeding profusely when police and paramedics arrived. However, he was expected to survive.
The man successfully removed one testicle and flushed it down the toilet; the other testicle was severely injured.
He then called a friend for help. Authorities were notified about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, and the man was rushed to the hospital. According to a police report on the incident, the man, who was not identified, said he was feeling the urge to touch and hurt children. He was not trying to take his life, he reportedly said, but was trying to stem the urge.
The man’s offense happened in 1984, police said. He had been on a sex offender registry for some time but no longer was required to register.
Geez, what a sad case. People like this, that don’t like the way they are, can get Lupron Depot shots that will quell sexual urges. They have a shot now that will last six months. Actually, all convicted sex offenders should be required to be on Lupron.

What up with the link?

Well… an ounce of prevention…
All repeat sex offenders should be castrated. No need to utilize public money to warehouse these animals.
Sex offenders in certain cases, lets not extend this to a kid peeing in public. I can see this happening in some region with an overly robotic bureaucratic sector.
“Actually, all convicted sex offenders should be required to be on Lupron.”
As should be all Dvorak Uncensored co-editors.
Actually, all convicted sex offenders should be required to be on Lupron.
What about people who did things that are considered reasonably normal, like the underage kid who received oral from another teenager, but their local laws make it a sex crime? Why not just the ones who performed truly depraved acts such as rape and actual pedophilia?
I hope some of you know, that Any sex position (in some states) besides missionary is considered a sex crime.
In some states, peeing in a bush, is a sex crime, as exposing yourself in public.
And most of these REAL cases, tend to be from people with SOME mental disability, and its NOT just their erection talking to them.
All repeat sex offenders should be castrated. No need to utilize public money to warehouse these animals.
This is an excellent idea, given that our current system of jurisprudence is perfectly fair and without error. There’s no way an innocent man could be convicted of rape. So it’s perfectly reasonable to irreparably mutilate him for his crime.
While we’re at it why don’t we start chopping off the hands of all convicted thieves? That’ll learn ’em!
The problem with castration is it doesn’t help nor does the Lupron shot. If you study what brings about sex offenses you’ll find that the great majority of sex crimes are about power and control that is just acted out with sex and if the tools don’t work, alternatives are found.
Several states in the past have experimented with the “shot” all most all have stopped as it has had no effect on the recidivism rate which is much lower than what the politico’s are leading us to believe. The US Department of Justice, right on their website shows only 3.3% recidivism rate. The Iowa Department of Corrections shows a 2.3% recidivism rate of those who complete treatment. Not the numbers the wanna be’s in politics are trying to lead us to believe. Seems the get tough on sex offenders laws make good vote getters.
yeah,
lets castrate David Copperfield!!

Perhaps he should have bought a Katana sword instead?
RR1, thanks for bringing those facts to light. Castration does not necessarily make a man incapable of sexual activity and certainly does not make him incapable of assault. We’ve jrecently seen the case of a judge who lost his parts in military service, convicted of sexual abuse of boys. Enough said. Wish there was a drug that ended such behavior, but if wishes were horses…
Lance Armstrong won 7 Tour de Frances after his castration due to testicular cancer. Castration makes you a WINNER!
Actually, all convicted sex offenders should be required to be on Lupron.
Funny, all of the anti-bush/big brother blogging on this site, and finally a statement which is both big brother and Bushism.
What caught your eye first, REPEAT or CASTRATED???
There has been a number of studies that have shown that castration is almost a sure fire way to solve a child abusers sexual urges. I think that they should be allowed to be castrated if they choose.
They need a noose around the doo-dads and drop them from a scaffold. POP! I’d watch THAT on You-Tube.
Did he watch the movie Little Children?
16, THEN WHY NOT JUST kILL HIS mALE HORMONE LEVELS…

Ever thought of removing Caps Lock and the shift keys? 😉
#18, excellent movie for mature adults. (if you’re not a mature adult, “Transformers” will knock your socks off).
This guy sawed one off and still had it in him to start on the other?!? Ya gotta be more than a little whacked out to do that.
Mine are hiding just thinking about it.
I’m willing to bet that the people who call for castration for repeat sex offenders are the same people who get mad at the stupid mistakes cops make.
‘Sex offender’ is a catch phrase in the media right now and that’s why we have so many strong opinions about it. The problem is that very few of these opinions are researched or even well thought out. Should we castrate the people who are guilty of having anal sex where it’s illegal? Should we castrate the two teenagers who were caught sending naughty pictures of themselves to each other?
How do you castrate a woman, anyway? I’m sure you know, since you’ve obviously sat down and thought it over.

I disagree. I would think those in favor of forced castration would be the police apologists and excuse makers that want law and order at any cost.
You are correct though, they do need to think this through.
#23, one man’s ‘sex offender’ is another man’s ‘sex defender’. Marrying out of one’s ethnic/race was considered an offense. Homosexuality was considered an offense. Incest was offensive though we are getting closer to accepting marriage between siblings (Einstein married his first cousin). Beastiality is considered by some to be offensive but there are plenty of lonely women out there who own BIG dogs. Spartan culture back a couple of thousand years ago had state sanctioned pedophilia. There are no limits except what is accepted by culture. And yes, sex by yourself (masturbation– or adherence to teachings of Master Bates) is still considered a no no, so make sure you do it under lead blankets so God won’t see you.
Castration or Lupron should only be used on rapists and child molesters, not people caught by a law that’s over-enforced.
That makes me recall reading about this guy a few years back:
“Terry Grice, 26, of Jackson County, Fla., celebrated a bout of depression by building a wooden rig to hold his penis and testicles in place while he used a circular saw to cut them off. He then tossed the dismembered parts into the back of his pickup truck and drove 50 miles to a hospital in Alabama for medical care. For days, Grice insisted that he had been attacked by strangers, but finally admitted that he had done the deed himself. His wife, three stepchildren and a nephew slept through the incident. (Reuters)”
A TV comic at the time made a joke about why Terry didn’t let the boys ride shotgun!
lol most of you dont even stop to think b4 you write ur opinion ,castration dosnt prevent them from being able to touch and think .Ok so we havnt the death penalty SHAME as many re offend esp now our prisons are so full ,and judges seem to give light sentances BUT if once convicted and they DO reoffend we the public should then be allowed to know who they are ,what area the animals r in. IF people abuse this right by taking the law in2 their own hands they should be punished by a heavy fine for risking this info to be silenced ,however angry it makes you. Then its up to the animals to prove they have reformed and us as parents to be given the right to protect our children.I do NOT believe many IF any change all they do is lie dormant untill the dust settles or they get the urge .HOW dare judges decide to allow a sex offenders to be granted annonimty if this is done to protect victims if members of the same family SURELY protecting thousands of children is priority our care system should be able to counsel and protect the victims well enough to prevent these scum from being able to have their crime silenced
