Bullshit. The universe is still exploding (expanding) from the last big bang. For a singularity to hit critical mass (big bang) ALL of the matter in the universe would have to come to earth for it to go boom. That will take some time for all that material to get here. Even at the speed of light it will take millions and billions of years.
We’ve had super colliders before, the only reason we have a bigger one is so the aiming of the particles can be more precise. That’s all, nothing is going to happen that hasn’t happend already.
It certainly sucks that Obermann and Matthews didn’t have time to enjoy their retirement…
Of course, although the super collider is being fired up tomorrow, the real big experiments won’t be for a couple of months.
