There’s no need for all this!”
Maybe it’s just the fear that if they don’t be good, the gallbladder may be next!
Study: Removing Tonsils May Help Some Misbehaving Children
If a child is misbehaving, a new study suggests that removing his or her tonsils could help.
Researchers believe that enlarged tonsils can cause sleeping problems, which in turn can cause behavior problems, Local 4 reported.
“I was very distracted and I always wanted to sleep during class,” said Hanaan Abouzaahr of Ann Arbor. “The teacher would be saying something and my mind would start to wander, and I’d get in trouble because I wasn’t paying attention and all that.”
Hanaan’s parents enrolled her in a research study at the University of Michigan and discovered her tonsils were the real reason for her problems, according to the station’s reports.
The study found that half of the children who suffered from hyperactivity and ADHD and had their tonsils removed no longer had the condition a year later.
I’m skeptical. And that is phrasing it in a nice way.

I always felt tired in class and had trouble concentrating but I had mild sleep apnea and lots of snoring so removing my tonsils allowed me to get normal deep sleep. That article mentions snoring so I am not really sure if they are talking about the same thing. I had been to doctors for sore throats for a few years but there was such an aversion to removing tonsils that most of them never mentioned it. I am glad that it is getting some more attention. Swollen and infected tonsils still doesn’t seem like it should be normal. Maybe they should look into why that is happening.
Enlarged tonsils are all to do with eating dairy products. Dump the dairy and the ADHD vanishes. And the tonsils stop swelling. Stop modifying kids bodies to adapt to some dairy voodoo that its good for kids.
Dairy products are only good for the farmer and the processer. Unless you are a cow don’t eat dairy. http://www.notmilk.com
I never payed attention in class. Beats me how I got through school–I was always daydreaming!
Seems reasonable – lack of sleep can cause all kinds of issues, and young ones often manifest symptoms that sure look like sleep deprivation.
Film at 11….
I’m not surprised since this comes from the nation that makes male mutilation (circumcision) and ordinary thing.
Tonsils out at ten, and I was in reform school at the time. I was a mean little bastard then, and I still ain’t all that easy to get along with.
Apparently, from what my Mom says, tonsil removal was a fairly common and routine thing in the 50’s. By the mid 60’s it had gone out of fashion with the Doc’s.
Got mine out in 1956 mom got a two for one deal with my brother from the doctor. that was medicine in the 50s. direct negoation with the doctor on cost saving. Funny thing the doctor was rich and we did not lack for care. doctors visits evan in the 60s were $5. walk right in no appointment.
Why not give them some good exercises during the day so they sleep well at night?

Bite your tongue. That would cut into video game time!
my son has suffered from throat infections and tonsilitis since he was born and at the moment i am at the end of my tether with his bad attitude and behavior leading up to them and after he has had them so i am willing to give anything a go atm
My son’s doctor recently said that his tonsils were enlarged and we have started noticing some ADHD symptoms. He has asthma and has always had bad allergies, so I am curious after reading these. I think we will make an appointment with the ENT
