Three Big Boobs
BBC NEWS | Americas | Rumsfeld heckled over war in Iraq — This is getting funnier and funnier.
US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was repeatedly interrupted and heckled by anti-war protesters during a speech.
One protester, retired CIA analyst Ray McGovern, accused Mr Rumsfeld of lying to the American people about the presence of WMD in Iraq before the war.

What do you expect…. when a democratic government has no credibility, it will eventually be held to accountability.
The Bush administration has basically been composed of a bunch of innefectual Bozos with delusions of grandeur, having produced exactly zero results, while in the process bankrupting the country, destroying it’s credibility and ‘leading’ us into a fiasco that only future US govenments (by their own admission) will be able to hopefully correct.
Colbert opened the doors last week to this type of requests for accountability… expect the President and his cronies to go back to a “Supporters Only” public meetings, which at 30% approval means “the small unthinking masses”.
Who is this Rum guy, is he on a TV show or something?
How are Tom and Katie doing? What about Britney and Kevin?
Can’t we talk stop talking about all this death and war and horror and lying, and start talking about the really important things??
Dolly — not there’s somebody that’s representative of what America needs more of! Babes with big… aspirations…
That’s three big boobs. Don’t blame me, someone had to say it.
[ed note: and I had to put it on the post. Very good. We need more joke writers!! — John]
RT — that was very funny.
Laughing at these pompous evil thugs may be one of the best things we can do, after all. We should move late night TV shows down into prime time until the next few elections are past.
If you actually watch the video of what happened, you see that Rumsfield demanded that they let the man stay and ask him the questions. Then he answered the man’s questions, but that wasn’t enough for the guy because he just kept on calling him a liar. Sorry if that doesn’t add up to your Michael Moore delivered image of the Bush administration, but it is what happened. You people really need to grow up and get a mind of your own instead of letting Hollywood and the Media tell you what to think.
Yes, official types have better learned how to handle disrespect from the public since the days of LBJ. Doesn’t make Rumsfeld’s criminal policies any less palatable, adam.
Heckling isn’t supposed to be debate club tricks. It’s anger — expressed. These Washington dweebs don’t spend any more time than the morning focus group page on public opinion. Than they shred it.
We’re hundreds of times better off than we would have been under Gore or Kerry. Poor libs are just pissy losers.
Losers? Effective scientific action on climate and health, Millions dead and dying from inaction in the 3rd World — coupled with Imperial slaughter in the Middle East.
Thanks for providing the neo-con ethic on governance. Go back to playing WOW, “me”. History judges losers like Rumsfeld no less harshly than Quisling or McNamara.
>Effective scientific action on climate and health,
Great to see all those liberals endorsing DDT use.
Maybe there was heckling but the sound bite I heard was a fair question that dearly needs to be asked and answered.
… but, of course, Rumsfeld didn’t answer it. I’m glad it was asked, anyway.
Was the guy ejected for it? Sounded like it.
ME >>We’re hundreds of times better off than we would have been under Gore or Kerry.
I’m totally convinced that Gore would have found something “actionable” in a PDB which stated that Osama was planning an attacking the US with airplanes.
I’m not at all convinced that Bush even read it.
That one major Bush screwup would have left us MUCH better off and that was just the first of about a thousand Bush screwups.
You ring wing guys have it all down pat. It’s not about truth, truth is elitest. It’s about truthiness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEJZxIv8H9g&search=truthiness
Adam… if YOU actually watch the video, you will see that Rumsfeld answers with a denial of his own documented words. What do you expect the response to be aside from challenging the new lie about his lying?
The word ‘liberal’ is thrown around by the right wing as if it some kind of insider-joke insult, when in reality it is something that we are actually very proud of. If you look at the goals of humanity in general, they are ‘Liberal’, with sound ecology, safety, fair and equal treatment, liberty, democracy, peace and all of the other ‘positives’ that everyone hopes for being ‘Liberal’ values.
So go ahead, call us “liberals”… just don’t insult me by calling me a conservative… because the enemies of American values (the Taliban, Al-Qaida, Iran, North Korea) are all conservatives.
Rumsfield is beyond a politician. The man is an artist. He has perfected the lie. Notice in the video that he responds to the question, accusing him of lying about WMDs, by answering in a soothing tone. He remains calm and puts the other person in a seat of hostility because he answers in a “loving” fatherly tone. Rumsfield is a master of communication. A Master! A Master of lying. Damn! He’s good. Better than any other person I’ve ever seen. Remarkable guy in terms of his superb skills. I’m shaking my head right now. I’ve seen him several times on TV. I can’t say it enough. The man is a Masterful Liar. Shoot, if anyone transferred that skill to picking up women, he would be getting laid every night with different hot babes.
>found something “actionable” in a PDB which stated that Osama was >planning an attacking the US with airplanes.
You mean like bombing a plant at night, or some camps? This was known in the last decade with the writings of the WTC bomber and the arrest of an Al-Qaeda guy for trying to hijack 12 planes in the Philippines. It was probably notes like these that Sandy Berger walked off with, notes showing just what Al Gore and co. did see and think at the time.
Here’s some background on Mr. McGovern – not your average “retired CIA analyst”:
http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2006/05/nutjob-ray-mcgovern-heckles-rummy.html
The session took an awkward turn when witness Ray McGovern, a former intelligence analyst, declared that the United States went to war in Iraq for oil, Israel and military bases craved by administration “neocons” so “the United States and Israel could dominate that part of the world.” He said that Israel should not be considered an ally and that Bush was doing the bidding of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
“Israel is not allowed to be brought up in polite conversation,” McGovern said. “The last time I did this, the previous director of Central Intelligence called me anti-Semitic.”…
McGovern was part of a travelling hate-America freakshow featuring accused pedophile Scott Ritter, Iraqi anti-US propagandist Faiza Al-Arji (whose “A Family in Baghdad” blog actually comes from Jordan), and professional America-hater Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Global Exchange and Code Pink…
Ray McGovern, a Bush Crimes Commission representative, hand delivers mock indictments through the White House gate on Tuesday January, 10, 2006…
Haha… *I* was saying Booo-urns!
Seriously though, that guy sucks! Are we sure that the guy isnt in jail now or anything.. seems like doing something like that would haunt you for a while, or atleast put you on some “list”
I hate hecklers. It’s so freakin childish. It pisses me off when you see college student demonstrators show up and just start shouting over anyone trying to speak with a differing opinion.
First Amendment? Screw your First Amendment, I’ll just drown you out with my screaming…
#8 – I don’t play games. I don’t have the time because I’m too busy causing Global Warming.
#19 – you ever notice that most hecklers are lefties? Righties usually have manners and respect for others.
ME,
Libs? so the world is either re-pubics or libs? No, sorry, mac, even “real” Republicans are getting fed up with the nonsense. Check the polls, and open your eyes.
The world isn’t left/right. Most are in the middle. You’re playing a school yard game, and unless you are still in 6th grade, it is unbecoming on an adult.
As for “righties”…define what that is? Savage? Rush? Turn off your radio, and think for yourself.
AND stopping the planned Millennium attack.
You can’t believe everything Richard Clarke tells you. That was stopped because a border guard decided to search a van. Switch with with a airline agent in Portland, Maine and you get a Millennium attack and no 9/11.
Perhaps this is the topic of another segment – but –
Who should we replace Rummy with. If Bush is shaking up the cabinet – who might he pick with credibility to turn this thing around?
McCain, Powell, Houdini?

So is any of that analysis wrong?
Frank, your whole post is ridiculous. If you can’t think of anything to say, then just shut the f*** up. Quoting some neo-con idiot that ignores facts is just silly. Rumsfeld and the Bush Administration lied to America. Get used to it. Instead of trying to defame the messenger, try coming up with a solution.
BTW, Israel has been a protectorate of the US since Truman. Right or wrong, America will never allow Israel to be over run by its neighbors and thus is harvesting the problems of that policy since at least 1967.
he wasn’t a “heckler”, first off. it was an open podium, and he took his turn. he asked a question. that isn’t heckling, and be damned to the news services who call asking a question they won’t ask themselves “heckling”.
second, when you ask a question that a member of the royal court finds disconcerting – “why did you lie?” — there is no damned excuse for security to try to drag you off the mic. the fact that rumsfeld was so gracious as to wave the goons away from the man who delivered the daily intelligence briefs to bush’s father does not make the act defensible. the man asked a question, goons started to drag him away from the q&a forum, and the question never was answered.
and rumsfeld DENIED he ever claimed that he knew where the WMD were — while i and everyone else with a memory remember him telling us he did. he is either insane or a liar, choose.
It seems we have another Joshua who posts here. While I am a Conservative(sorry awake, but I haven’t kicked a kid or ate a dog all day), I’m not #17.
I didn’t see the actual video, but I read a transcript On the BBC site and it seemed he was trying to answer the guys questions. Even if the answers weren’t want you want to hear, at least he didn’t ignore him. And BBC said that Rummy even waved back his security people from the guy.
“if YOU actually watch the video, you will see that Rumsfeld answers with a denial of his own documented words.”
Awake you are correct.
He F’d up big time on that one.
>news services who call asking a question they won’t ask themselves
Go back to some of the pre-Iraq press conferences. There were tough questions being asked, skeptical about the weapons claims, asking why other allies looking at the same intelligence didn’t see the same threat, etc.
Yeah AB CD tough questions from that gay prostitute!
Here’s a transcript from March 2003. Doesn’t sound like a fawning press. It only got worse afterwards, despite their refusal to print some nutty stories.
