A tad patronising if you ask me…

  1. doughoist says:

    I like it!

  2. RTaylor says:

What you saw on TV was the real Jack Webb. I predict much discourse in this thread.

  3. derspankster says:

The United States is over 400 years old? I must have missed that fact somewhere along the line.

It cracks me up watching these “cops” spouting all their moralistic rhetoric.

  4. Mr Diesel says:

Jeez, get over yourself people. It’s called humor.

  5. Winston says:

They should have cut to photos of the various CEOs of the “too big to fail” insolvent banks and Wall Street firms that the Fed is spending $250 billion of your money per quarter to maintain the illusion that they aren’t.

  6. arpie says:

Actually, this might be the first generation that’s actually *not* an improvement over the previous generation. In terms of intelligence, health, etc.

For example, according to a study released in the March 17, 2005 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine “If the childhood obesity problem continues to grow at its current rate, this new generation will become the first in history to have a life expectancy less than its parents,”.

Also, “one in three children born in 2000 will develop diabetes,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

So what’s more American? The freedom to become idiots or the right to life, liberty and the pursue of happiness?

  7. Awake says:

Two old white men talking down to a young black man and telling him to not try to change things. Using footage made during the 60’s. Telling him to keep things the same because they have worked out very well so far.

    That clip just drips irony.

Of course, the old white guys were just trying to protect us from communism, as illustrated here:

Of course people like Alfred1 would find this entertaining… he would have been one of the ones holding the signs.

Remember, Alred1 doesn’t actually believe any of the crap he spouts. He’s not even religious or a Christian or probably even a Republican or a Conservative.

He’s only here as a troll, to encourage lots and lots of Comments and to increase page views. It’s called more clicks by dirty tricks.

For all we know, he’s a DU Editor in disguise, getting paid to con people into reacting vehemently. For a self-proclaimed business owner, he certainly seems to have lots of free time on his hands.

He and pedro make a good team and somehow, it works every time. It’s almost as if they’re being encouraged to spew hatred and stupidity, haven’t you noticed?

No matter how smart they are, other people get so pissed off, they just can’t resist responding to the two of them. I know the feeling myself but I’ve recently decided it’s beneath me to be conned by such obvious trolls.

  9. bobbo, reality is a cruel master says:

So as America circles the drain the democratically elected candidate who promised change is criticized for being elitist?

This would be nothing but funny if we weren’t circling the drain and needed change.

  10. AdmFubar says:

i’m with #4, 400 years? i didnt know that dragnet was set in the future.

Patronizing? more like more sour grapes from the repubicans…

  11. Rabble Rouser says:

I would have liked it better if Cheney were in the chair, and at the end, blew them both away, then told them to go fornicate themselves.

  12. noname says:

So what’s more American? The freedom to become idiots or the right to life, liberty and the pursue of happiness?

Isn’t the pursuit of a McDonald’s Baked Apple Pie American?

Eat Up citizens as much as you can before the bleak winter of inflation hits. Only the morbitly obese will survive!!

  13. WebUSer says:

Amazing…They only argued their point for one minute before invoking Godwin’s Law.

  14. Buzz says:

Substitute a picture of virtually ANY politician, and it works exactly as well.

As for the 400 years: he’s not talking dog years, he’s counting from 1620, the year folks landed at Plymouth Rock, but he flunked classes in Plus And Take Away in high school. And that was as far as he got.
