1983? What are they doing, playing pong? Maybe writing dirty posts on a bulletin board. By tomorrow night they might get a reply. THEN the action will get started…

    Which one?

  4. jaywontdart says:

Hey, try using the iPad when you are sick in bed! Its what it was made for I’m sure, I can just see Jobs recovering in hospital with a giant 17 MBP on his lap, when inspiration struck him…”there must be something…lighter…the MBA sucks…I’ve got it! A Tablet computer!”

  5. Usagi says:

A geek with a girl!?!?!?! In BED?!?!?!?!

    Puleeze!

  6. Animal Mother says:

It’s Jobs and Gates, I think.

Good to see SOMEONE who owned a Commodore-64 was getting laid!

I just wish I remembered more of my high school German.

The pics and text you see when you click on the magazine cover are truly bizarre. The Movie short “King Crab Attack” should of course be served with melted butter.

If you recognized it at first sight you’re over 40. An interest in computers in the late 70’s early eighties was like chick repellant. Ah the C64, what a machine!

  14. honeyman says:

    #13 Amodedoma

    Guilty as charged!

The C64 was upgrade from my Sinclair Spectrum 48k. Both great machines.

  18. The0ne says:

I’m pretty sure this has taken off to some extent. There are many people that computer on the bed for their writing and “enjoyment” activities. 🙂

    “chick repellent” my arse…

heck, I wrote this cheesy psuedo-AI IF THEN ELSE statement program in BASIC on my Timex-Sinclair Z80 chip membrane “computer” that i “customized” for the girls in the neighborhood.. (i got the idea from the ELISA prgm..remember that?)

-a highly effective “chick magnet” when you program in the right responses…(i was 14-15 at the time) ;p

(honeyman, you were lucky..my Z80 only had 1k of RAM, and the 4k expansion module was $200, iirc. -it really sucked when you got near line 1000 of your prgm and got an “out of memory error”)

-did something similar with the P.E.T computer at school with similar outcomes.. poking and peeking on my C=64 and C=128 made it even more “colorful” -Viva la Sprites!
(i still have an old 1200 baud parallel port modem that plugs into C=64 in the pic.

if you were/are a geek and couldn’t get the girls..you simply had zero imagination imo..

(remember all the amazing ANSI graphics animated “porn” people used to draw at the time?)

(-and he who had the biggest Tagline File was king..) :S

-as for the Op’s pic…it’s a German magazine..and the Germans (unlike here in a America) are not brainwashed with sexual hangups like here in America. The only “hangup” in a German bedroom would perhaps be the handcuffs, whips and rubber face masks hanging on the rack in the corner.

    -fun times indeed..

Hmmm… the coax cable to the TV is connected, but what about the power? Even with that, there’s no disk-drive, tape drive, or ROM Card attached, so all they have is 38911 Basic Bytes Free…

If I was that guy, I’d try POKE, but not on the Commodore-64 😉

  22. yankinwaoz says:

Man… that is one creepy picture.

She looks like she is about 14 years old trying to look 25. And he looks like a basement dwelling perv who snagged her on an online message board.

Where was Chris Hansen when we needed him?

  23. John E. Quantum says:

She looks a little like Dee Dee Myers to me…

Actually the tiny silver plug-hole is the TV
out from the RF modulator. I think the black cable
that is there is to the disk or cassette. No video
    or audio for them.

But of course, they may be more interested on
    other things.

  25. GregAllen says:

One of my teen girlfriends was a devoted Commodore 64 owner. She was so sexy and cute programming that thing which probably explains my affection for those old computers.

She never used the computer in bed, though. But, my Tandy 102 was perfect in bed but also in the car, on camping trips, in boats — I took my Tandy 102 with me everywhere. It booted up in seconds, rarely crashed and ran for hours on standard AA batteries.

The 102 was easily my top-favorite computer from that era — I still have it sitting in a closet because I don’t have the heart to get rid of the good memories.

I must not be alone — the original and best BBS for 102 devotees is still running as a web site and, apparently, people are still using them and even developing new hardware and software.
