No, this incredible image is not a Photoshop montage and that’s not Batman’s plane. It’s a Qantas Dash 8 Q 400, a twin propeller passenger airplane passing in front of the Moon in Australia. This is how it was taken.

It Happens..Once in a blue Moon
@1 Nice!
WONDERFUL shot! Great job. I’ve taken hundreds of pics of planes and you rarely get that timing just right.
That’s no moon…
There’s a double decker bus on the other side.
The photo may be real, but it looks tweaked.
Still a great shot.
We Fly More Koalas to the Moon than Any Other Airline!
Something a bit odd about the way the vapour/vapor trails end just where the image of the moon in the background ends.
What a scenic and serene photo
No doubt fly me away
What a beauty
You would think the moon was photoshop cropped
its just so well done
Nice and neat
Well done Captain – a capital class photo
Admit it, they crashed upside down on the moon!
# 7 Fred F Something a bit odd about the way the vapour/vapor trails
Do propeller aircraft create vapor trails? I’m not an expert but I thought they were caused by the Venturi effect of jet engines.
It’s sad that every great shot has the now standard disclaimer “No, this is not Photoshopped”, placed before it.
# 11 Tim “every great shot has the now standard disclaimer “No, this is not Photoshopped”
Well we wouldn’t be in that situation if so many photographers, newspapers and magazines didn’t try to pass off altered photos as real!
I was on that plane! We had momentarily lost gravitational pull from earth and ended up very close to the moon. Our heroic pilot landed us safely on one of the cheese craters.
#13 Monsieur Lawyer: Do you think we’re fools? A prop aircraft cannot leave the earth’s atmosphere. Unless, maybe there was a tractor beam in one of those craters. A John Deere tractor beam. Beam me up, Sully.
I like cheese.
Ultra cool!
