Since everyone is showing off their various “snowed-in” photos, I thought I’d wish the readers a Merry Christmas from from my abode on the Olympic Peninsula in Northern Washington with some views.

Here’s the front of the house. Note the landscaping.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  1. Jopa says:

The top picture is my fantasy.
I am from Israel and there is no real winter in Israel.
I want a place like that with snow and trees and cold wind hauling so I can sit with my woman in front of the fire place quietly during the nights!!!

This year, the winter here is almost non existent – we miss it sooooo much.

  2. Greensaab says:

Pretty rare to see that much snow up there. I am on the other side of the state from you and we have about 3 1/2 feet and it is still snowing.

  3. jcj7161 says:

Merry Christmas John and enjoy the snow and ice

  4. hhopper says:

It’s currently 75°F in the Tampa Bay Area. Just doesn’t seem like Christmas.

  5. ExMas says:

I thought you lived in the silicon valley which doesn’t exist, thus, there could be no pictures.

  6. madtruckman says:

we just got done thawing out from a half inch of ice. trees and power down everywhere. hope you are having a merry christmas, john!!!

  7. B. Dog says:

A White Christmas is real nice, Merry Christmas.

I’ve been out that way in the summer to dig up buckets of clams in Sequim.

  8. floyd says:

Last winter, Albuquerque had a white Christmas.

This year it’s warmer and no snow except in the Sandia Mountains nearby. I like that…

  9. Uncle Dave says:

#6: He has vast estates in many lands.

  10. Canine says:

we’re at 1k feet up the black diamond rd and have a bit more, but it’s so nice to have a white Christmas, it’s been a looooooong time, and the kids are loving it. Merry Christmas!

  11. jim.flack says:

John, you live in Western Washington, or have a home here? I live in Maple Valey, in SE King County. If you’re in the Puget Sound area, let’s do lunch!

  12. the real billybob says:

    Merry “Whatever” John.

We have a foot of snow and 20 below in northern Wisconsin. Stay warm.

  13. Mister Mustard says:

    #13 – TRBB

    >>We have a foot of snow and 20 below in
    >>northern Wisconsin.

Heh heh. Twenty below Celcius, maybe. With the wind chill.

  14. Merry Xmas Mr Crank… awesome pics. enjoy the cold and some fine food + wine.

  15. Paddy-O says:

    Merry Christmas John,

    Nice pics.

  16. bobbo says:

Is that a bed frame on the front porch to be used “al fresco” in the summertime?

Haven’t seen such indoor/outdoor amenities since my last fly by of a trailer park.

  17. Ah_Yea says:

Good by and good riddance to Global Warming.

  18. Uncle Patso says:

Wasn’t sure if you were going to be able to make it there in time; congrats!

Best wishes to you and yours.

  19. Paddy-O says:

    # 18 Ah_Yea said, “Good by and good riddance to Global Warming.”

    Cooling is the new warming.

  20. Mister Mustard says:

    #18 – #20

Yeah, when there’s snow at the same lattitude as International Falls MN, that marks the end of the myth of global warming.

    HAW!!

  21. Paddy-O says:

    # 21 Mister Mustard said, “Yeah, when there’s snow at the same lattitude as International Falls MN, that marks the end of the myth of global warming.”

No, more like snow in New Orleans before winter even arrives… Like happened this year, twice.

    LOL

  22. bobbo says:

Hey Paddy and Ah-Yea==when the MODEL that predicts the general trend of global warming also predicts localized extremes in weather, how does snow in NO do anything but validate the model and thereby the prediction???

You dopes can’t juggle two ideas at one time. The only controversy is whether or not the global warming is human caused to such a degree that money would be well spent limiting carbon pollution. To transform that limited issue into denying the greater context is truly retarded.

    Repuglican = Retarded Douche Bag.

  23. Paddy-O says:

    # 23 bobbo said, “Hey Paddy and Ah-Yea==when the MODEL that predicts…”

Umm, where does the model predict cooling for the majority of the planet & the 11 year increase in the Antarctic ice cap?

  24. bobbo says:

#24–Paddy==I don’t know the model that well, do you? I thought not.

“AVERAGE GLOBAL WARMING” with lots of up’s and down’s and local variation.

Paddy–to what do you attribute the 6 centimetre ocean rise over the last decade to? You Repuglicans can moan that much, but not piss that much.

  25. Mister Mustard says:

    Paddy-RAMBO

Give it up, dude. All your base are belong to us. You’ve got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em, know when to walk away, know when to run.

Now would be the time to run, LOLcat.

  26. Paddy-O says:

    # 25 bobbo said, “Paddy–to what do you attribute the 6 centimetre ocean rise over the last decade to?”

What do you attribute the 11 year increase in Antarctic ice cap & lower temps there, directly in conflict of the global warming predictions?

  27. bobbo says:

#27–Paddy==I CHALLENGE YOU and any other climate change truther to deny that right now ocean level is the best directly observable measurement of net/net/net global warming/cooling effects. THE OCEAN IS RISING. Net global warming cannot be denied except by kneejerk idiots and those in the pay of evil saliva drooling oil greed heads.

As to the level/amount of ice anywhere==local variation. Please provide a link to any authority stating the climate model ((of which there are many )) specifically predicts the snow pack anywhere on earth.

    Stooge.

  28. bobbo says:

#27–Paddy-O==I googled (“increased snow” antarctica “global warming”) and the second entry is:

    http://www.worldclimatereport.com/index.php/2005/05/27/antarctic-ice-a-global-warming-snow-job/

It seems increased snow is a result of global warming.

    Read-Learn-change your mind.

Hard to change a mind if you don’t have one and don’t do the first two?

  29. Paddy-O says:

    # 29 bobbo said, “It seems increased snow is a result of global warming.”

    But not the falling temps.

Nice try. Would you like the box of Rice-a-Roni mailed?
