    In order to sell out, one has to have had some pre-sellout principles to start with. Is there any proof Obama wasn’t already a pre-paid lacky of the rich and powerful? Putting McCain and Palin up against his candidacy, seemed to me to be a sure fire strategy to get his elected. McCain was way too old and half crippled. And Palin was scary stupid. Worse than Dan Quayle. Plus Obama was irresistible as the first possible black president, to all of the minority voters. So I think he was really made as the pre-sold-out candidate, for the democrats. Who’d rather retain control between themselves and the republicans. Then see a rouge independent get in the White House. It might make it way harder (more expensive) to buy them out. Or they’d have to turn loose another lone gunman, on him.

    I don’t understand your #35. What was the comment? Were you posting YOUR thoughts or someone elses. If you have a comment to lie about then sure, I assume Obamaforever or any number of others will challenge you on it. If you just want us to read some other article then forget it. Make your own comment, but don’t expect others to do your homework for you.

    If the Rolling Stone article ever finds its way onto this blog, then it will be worth commenting on.

    I don’t know what y’all are arguing about, but that was a very depressing article.

    On the one hand, the wingnuts don’t have to worry about socialists and communists and radical leftists running the White House.

    On the other hand, it shows that the Democratic party has the same philosophies as the Republican party when it comes to matters of money and finance. The big guys get theirs, and the rest of us get screwed.

    It seems the only difference in the parties is on social issues. The big money boys don’t care about abortion or gay marriage, so the Democrats can go their own way on those issues. So they’re slightly less bad than the Republicans. It’s bad enough getting screwed by the bankers, but it would be adding insult to injury to elect Republicans and endure their Christian Taliban antics.

    Like I’ve always said… I’m a liberal, I don’t have a political party that represents me.

    But it doesn’t appear that true conservatives have a political party that represents them either. Witness this abomination of a Senate Healthcare bill… forcing poor people to buy insurance from existing healthcare insurance companies, and then our tax money going to pay for it. So our tax dollars go to the profits of the big corporations. That’s not liberal, and not conservative in the classic sense, it’s raw corporate power stealing our tax dollars. Fascism.

Virtually all of the Rubinites brought in to manage the economy under Obama share the same fundamental political philosophy carefully articulated for years by the Hamilton Project: Expand the safety net to protect the poor, but let Wall Street do whatever it wants. “Bob Rubin, these guys, they’re classic limousine liberals,” says David Sirota, a former Democratic strategist. “These are basically people who have made shitloads of money in the speculative economy, but they want to call themselves good Democrats because they’re willing to give a little more to the poor. That’s the model for this Democratic Party: Let the rich do their thing, but give a fraction more to everyone else.”
