Bank Robbers Dig 200-Meter Tunnel
Thieves in Brazil have stolen up to $65m (£36m) after tunnelling into a bank in what police say could be the country’s biggest bank heist.
The thieves dug a 200m (656ft) tunnel into the bank from a nearby house in the northern city of Fortaleza.
Neighbours said between six and 10 men worked at the house, rented in the name of a company making artificial turf.
The theft happened over the weekend, but was not discovered until Monday morning because the bank was closed.
I guess this proves that movies and video games do lead to violence and crime. This was obviously ripped right from the Coen Brothers movie “Ladykillers”.

The police has found already about 1 million from the stolen money. The thieves wasn’t exactly bright, because they left lots of evidence behind.
What absolute legends, that is the most amazing story i have ever heard. hope they spend it well living in the Bahamas, the banks are so greedy, let the little man win, wooohooo!!!!!

as soon as i heard of this story, i immediately thought of the second book in the famous story of a french convict – Papillon. they did exactly the same thing, and their plan was very ingenious except for the fact that they didn’t dig it deep enough becasue a truck drove over the side street (which never got heavy vehicles) and caved the tunnel in. perhaps they got the idea from that??
