Oww!
Police arrest cement soccer ball pranksters
Police in Berlin said on Wednesday they had arrested two men on suspicion of placing cement-filled soccer balls around the city and inviting people to kick them. At least two people injured themselves by kicking the balls, which were chained to lampposts and trees alongside the spray-painted message: “Can you kick it?”
Police said they had identified a 26-year-old and a 29-year-old and had found a workshop in their apartment where they made the balls. The two are accused of causing serious physical injury, dangerous obstruction of traffic and causing injury through negligence, police said.
I bet they claim it was performance art.

I’d like to see that on candid camera..
I think the ones the hurt themselves should be fined for being stupid in public.
When I was a kid I came across a cardboard box on the sidewalk. Thinking it was empty, I kicked it hard. It wasn’t empty. There was a car battery inside. Needless to say, I don’t kick things now without checking first. 🙂
Actually I did a similar thing as a kid. I was walking to school one day and in a friend’s yard I spotted on of those multicolored plastic balls like you find in those big bins at the toystore. So I ran up and give it a soccer kick as hard as I could. Turns out it was a bowling ball. It rolled about 10 feet rather than launching off into the next neighbors yard. Needless to say I quit kicking strange balls.
“Needless to say I quit kicking strange balls.”
Geez, Raff, I’m glad I’m not a friend!
Well John, there’s a bit of a difference between kicking unmarked things that have objects in them vs. kicking a “soccer ball” that has a sign next to it essentially saying to kick it.
lol you’re safe Don..
Reminds me of “cup checks”when I was into martial arts. lol Cup Check! Whamm!!.. The instructor was the worst one for that…
Come to think of It I kicked the wall in my sleep once when I was training about 3 times a week. lol
