All I can think of is how dumb are these people. Both of them! If this is a put on it’s the dumbest put on in the world and it’s backfired. If it isn’t, it makes me wonder how such stupid people earn way more money than me. I think we’re rewarding the wrong people in America by millions to these two while teachers get bupkis for pay. And since the teachers get paid next to nothing, it’s no surprise that non-collegiate graduates like these two get the lions share.
26, I agree that we as a society should place a high value on teachers as opposed to pop stars, but I’m not sure who you’re talking about in this specific instance when you use Brittney and K-Fed as examples of how “we” are rewarding the wrong people. Who’s “we”?
B.S. sold a lot of CDs and concert tickets, mostly to tweens and teens. B.S. made money because she managed to be popular with teenage girls who would be obsessive about her music and teenage boys who would be obsessive about her appearance.
It’s not like the government subsidized her career (unless you’re espousing some new conspiracy theory), and surely you aren’t advocating that we expect a 14-year-old girl to care whether the person on the radio has a college degree (a lot of musicians don’t, including many you and I might consider to be more legitimate), or that instead of buying pop music they donate their babysitting money to a school or an art museum or something more high-brow.
That said, I think her music mostly sucks and she’s an idiot, but that’s hardly news at this point.

She’s high, big deal. People act like it’s shocking when celebs get high/drunk and do/say stupid sh*t?!?! Like nobody here hasn’t ever done that?
The part where she says she’s missing out on life made me a little sad.
