Air Force Chief, M.B.A., and Apparent Idiot. Another Fine Bush Appointee.

Air Force chief: Test weapons on Americans — When I first read this I was thinking, “No,this has to be from the Onion, right? What asshole would even suggest something like this? Surely nobody in a position of responsibility.”

What an incredible disrespect these people have for the American public. This guy should be fired immediately.

WASHINGTON – Nonlethal weapons such as high-power microwave devices should be used on American citizens in crowd-control situations before they are used on the battlefield, the Air Force secretary said Tuesday.

Domestic use would make it easier to avoid questions in the international community over any possible safety concerns, said Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne.

“If we’re not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation,” said Wynne.

What kind of logic is this??

Wynne’s bio here.

You bunch of whiny citizens. The govt always knows whats good for you, now sit down and shut up!

  2. Whaapp! says:

hmmm, the idiot graduated from West Point (Army) then serves seven years in the US Air Force with captain being the highest rank attained .

This spells L-O-S-E-R in any language

Based on his bio he is so unqualified that it is, is, is, just un-frigging-believable!

I am SO glad I retired from the USAF in ’96.

  3. dave says:

(Willfully?) obtuse posts like these make me want to unsubscribe, but I can’t help biting this time…

This is not about testing the danger of the weapons, it is about demonstrating that they are just that – non-lethal – and acceptable for use. Using people as guineapigs for testing would certainly not be accepted, no matter what the “situation”.

The argument mr Wynne makes about “demonstrating the safety” etc is perfectly valid and logical.

Guns don’t kill people, asshats who speak/act without thinking kill people.

  4. Konstratos says:

The current administration and therefore the people who elected them continue demonstrating a complete disregard for human life. I’m ashamed to be a westener and I hope people like this rot in hell (if there is one).

  5. RBG says:

Are you sure you weren’t thrown out of the USAF? A remark like that demonstrates who the real loser is. A lot of “loser” Captains and ORs are putting their lives on the line for you right now. I’ll take your words as an “intense” in-joke.

  6. Gregory says:

I usually scoff at the people that say bush bashing is the way here.. but damn this post has brought the festering idiots out.

A guy who says that *gasp* we should not use non-lethal weapons against other people that we wouldn’t use on ourselves! What a concept.

This post and almost all its comments are the worst kind of self-serving bullshit. It makes me sad to say I hold similar opinions to some of you.

Let’s just call the voting off ?

Voting – too important for just ANYONE to do!

    J/P=?

  8. Mac says:

    Gregory

It not OUR fault Bush makes such an easy target. The guy does it to himself. The only time he opens his mouth is to change feet.

  9. space monkeys says:

yeah I agree w/ #2 poster – this is an onion post for sure (or a digg)

  10. Smartalix says:

We’re eventually going to see these things used for crowd control in the US anyway, no matter where it’s tested. We already use tasers and taser belts, and this is only a step away. If the cops had a way to taser an entire crowd, they’d find a reason to use it.

Cops already use tear gas, rubber bullets, and truncheons to supress unruly crowds, so what’s a little microwave-induced intense skin pain?

  11. Smith says:

Pardon me, but I believe what the general was trying to say was, “If it isn’t safe enough for crowd control in the US, then DON’T TELL ME TO USE IT FOR CROWD CONTROL IN BAGDAD!”

That isn’t an unreasonable request, is it?

  12. Akakie says:

“Nonlethal weapons such as high-power microwave devices…” the man says. High-power microwaves?

Shall I tell you about pacemakers? Insulin pumps for diabetics?

How about those things that don’t get dead — just fried. Start with the laptop in your briefcase. Your iPod. Your cell phone. Maybe the TV truck relaying video of the riot. (On second thought …)

    Bah. Humbug!
