Does Ann Coulter Get Away With It Because Shes A Woman? — I saw the Ann Coulter nervous twitch when she was confronted by Elizabeth Edwards. She was twitching because she sensed the money coming in. If you like this sort of skunks versus skunks contest, this is a beaut. I tuned into right wing radio, as usual, to see how this was being handled and it was pretty lame with most siding with Coulter over her mocking the death of the Edwards’ son with the rationale that John Edwards should be complaining not the wife. Cripes!
Twitching in her seat, Coulter nevertheless put on her “bring it” front. Edwards told Coulter that she’d welcome her input on the issues, but that she needed to stop the personal attacks on her husband, and she also needed to quit talking about her deceased son. In the recent past, Coulter called John Edwards a “fag” and remarked that he was so shallow and so willing to advance his presidential candidacy that he had placed a bumper sticker on the back of his car that read, “[a]sk me about my dead son”.
Coulter came back with the feeble argument that the attacks were ultimately justified as the Edwards campaign was now using Coulter’s prior statements about Edwards as a fundraising prompt. What better to compel the generosity of the left than Ann Coulter? A Coulter sycophant lurking in Hardball’s “special outdoor audience” that was gathered to get a glimpse of their queen asked, “[w]hy isn’t John Edwards making this call?” Elizabeth Edwards responded that it was she who was the mother of the boy who died, and that defending her husband and her child’s memory was basically on her. This is a concept that Coulter probably does not grasp at all.
Coulter: “So? Blow me!”

She could be kind of cute if she kept her mouth shut, didn’t have legs like chicken sticks, and laid off the Nicorette gum and Chardonnnay.
Unfortunately, she speaks. As it is, she’s one of the most loathsome people this earth has ever been afflicted with.
Anyone who watched that catfight with Elizabeth Edwards and would give even a roll of used toilet paper to that skank is just too dumb to live.
Anyone who read her article would know that the bumper sticker part was a joke, backed up by the previous facts she threw in where Edwards did mention his son.

Take the Edwards dead son issue. ((are we allowed to say those words?)) What is worse, Edwards repeatedly telling the story about how he’s never told anyone before how he cradled his dead son in his arms saying he would dedicate his life to helping the poor===ie, if true a very shabby thing to do. or Ann Coulter making fun of him for trying to profit off such shabby behavior.
Be careful now, Schrum wrote it up in a book about how Kerry did not initially want Edwards to run with because of the incident and as far as I know, Edwards has never denied he in fact told the story several times–he simply refuses to talk about it.
Now, I think Ann might easily be a very hateful person, or just a market savvy provocateur, but who thinks Ann comments on this subject is really that unjustified?

If Ann did lampoon the dead son, or the 911 Widows, as is often characterized as in this thread, YES she would be a horrible person. But that is not what she said. That makes her unique, original, provocative and we need that all the time==otherwise its a steady diet of talking point lies.

this is very difficult issue for a thread debate. First we have to agree on what actual words were used ((your u-tube clip was dispositive)), then agree on what was meant, before we can legitimately debate the issues.
We rarely even address any of those predicates. Worth it for the joke or two that pass for opinion.
