Microsoft Hoping ‘Halo’ Is Goodbye To Sony — This will be the defining moment for the Microsoft gaming group. They might stop bleeding money and also manage to put Sony out of its misery.
Microsoft needs a big boost from “Halo 3” for its Entertainment and Devices division to post a first-ever profit in fiscal 2008, which ends in June. “This will be the biggest consumer entertainment launch in history. It will be bigger than any movie, any books or music and so forth,” Kim said. “‘Halo 3’ will be much bigger than ‘Halo 2’ was.”
“Halo 2” set a one-day entertainment sales record when it launched in November 2004. It generated $125 million in sales in its first 24 hours.
With this “Halo” launch, Microsoft has cranked up publicity with a host of licensing deals. The “Halo” universe has spawned novels, comics, action figures and even a new soft drink from Mountain Dew.
There are not enough XBox 360s for them to sell more Halo 3s than Halo2s. There are only about 9 million Xbox 360s out there.

Nah, after playing the medal of honor games I got sick of FPS, nothing kills the fun out of a game when you watch a bomb explode nearby a group of enemies and all they do is faint.

I don’t really understand folks rooting for the PS3 to die. Is it more expensive than the 360? Yes, but it costs less than the adjusted price for my first PS2. As a DVD player it is superb; I own one. $500 is way less than what I paid for my first DVD player.
The 360 with an HD add on costs more than a PS3 and the whole Xbox enterprise has never made a profit. WIndows subsidizes the Xbox in some strange war to kill off Playstation. Meanwhile Nintendo just makes game machines and is profitable. Have to give them that.
My PS3 feels like a quality piece of equipment. The Xboxes I’ve seen seem pretty cheaply made; like some chinese mattel thingie or something.
Warcraft on PS3 is a pretty kul shooter. Kids games on the 3 are covered by ps2 games so far. Oh yeah, PS2 games are still being developed.

So your argument is that the PS3 is a good….DVD player? I don’t care about DVDs, I want a gaming system. In that regard, the 360 is supreme. Gamers don’t care that the 360+HD DVD add on > the ps3. What gamers care about is that there is exactly one desirable exclusive title for the PS3…meanwhile, the 360 runs everything else.

He probably took matters in his own hands ignored the libelous MS hating blog’o’sphere got on xbox live and asked actual xbox users what their experience with the RROD was and found that it was more like 10% (still a problem but no where near the problem you claim) were having the issue, as I did.
Also you obviously missed the debunking of these claims when people started asking for gamercards on blogs from people who were claiming they had problems. Of the people I asked for gamer cards, several dozen at least, only one was actually able to provide me with a link to a gamer card. That was for a problem with a noisy dvd player, not the much exposed RROD issue. So while MS claimed a 1 billion dollar charge, I bet they never spend that much on fixing it.
So yeah, there is a problem, MS fixed it. Why is that not good enough for you? Oh because you are a MS hater, and you are gonna latch on to any perceived issue no mater how much it is based on hyperbole, and how little based in reality it is.
Halo 3 is gonna launch in about 12 hours from my posting this, and it is ALREADY the most successful (based on prerelease sales) game of ALL FUCKING TIME.
It it going to generate 2-4 million console sales alone. It will push the xbox into the black, as well as MS’s game and entertainment division. It will crush the PS3’s hopes of ever being a relevant console for this generation, and restore the XBox in its dominant position over the wii.

You obviously have not played PornMaster 2020, where you are a porn star turned secret agent enhanced with cybernetic “enhancements” and highly powered sex toys.
You run around San Francisco and do battle with various deviants while grabbing power-ups like penis extenders (holds more ammo) and leather chaps (used for armor). As you kill enemies you “harden” and once you reach full erection, you can immobilize all the enemies on the level with your Jism-shower.
It definitely is good to play with the 8800 GTX as you’ll really want to see it in full resolution.

Actually, the most succesful game of all time is Donkey Kong Country for the snes, if I can recall, Nintendo managed to sell about 20 million copies of it.
