Pro-Wrestler-turned-Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura went on Larry King Live Tuesday and unloaded on a variety of topics, including his take on the 2008 presidential candidates, what he’s looking for in a commander-in-chief, and whether he plans on running for president. Ventura told King that he thinks it’s time for a revolution in the United States, that we are a nation of “lemmings,” and that the only difference between the two major political parties and street gangs are that the politicians wear Brooks Brothers suits. After blasting the two-party “dictatorship” in America, he gave his opinion of the three presidential candidates (hint: it wasn’t very favorable). And he reserved special judgment for the “chickenhawks” who he said marched the country into war in Iraq.

#60–BertD–I’m close to bed right now, so just a short one to be picked up again after I sleep should you so choose.
In each case when you complain I am twisting your words, I am speaking for myself. If it still doesn’t read that way to you, then understand that is what I meant to say even if I didn’t pull it off. In the case of Death Penalty for Drunk Driving, I did not recall Muslim states which I will take at your word that they do have the death penalty for it==makes sense they would. I think the great majority is still on my side? And as I say==yea, I personally don’t care that much==lets try death for drunk driving killing. I still don’t think that death rate would “naturally” come down as the drunks got executied. Too many idiots. I see a logic error here of sorts that if drunk driving killing is SO BAD it deserves the death penalty, then why would drunk driving itself warrant something, something less than the death penalty? And there you have our system of today.
You really aren’t addressing what laws are ok restrictions on liberty and which ones aren’t and what to do with people that disagree==ie, the majority who have elected the good folks who have brought us our inefficient government.
In the main, I see you arguing against an imperfect world, and yes it is. Simply no alternative.
To bed, hopefully.
In the last paragraph, I meant to say Air Force One.
bobbo – for whatever reason, you’re getting wrapped around the axle on this drunk driving issue. All I am saying is that if nothing bad happens and no property gets damaged , and nobody gets injured or killed, there should be no chargeable offense. NO HARM – NO FOUL. What’s so hard to understand? But if you DO hurt or kill somebody, it’s been nice knowing ya. Friends wouldn’t let friends, and family wouldn’t let family drive drunk.
Sweet Dreams.
If “we” are discussing this issue, how is it I’m the one that’s wrapped around the axle–especially when my position is the majority position???
Because the “risk of harm” is clearly present as a drunk person drives down the road and the majority ((if not all, including Muslim societies who won’t even let you drink in private in your house???)) of people if not everyone but YOU, sees this as something that should be illegal.
Now, I think the “automatically guilty” of DUI based on .08-06-04? is “unfair” to certain people who can drive better under the influence that others can sober==but I don’t see it as an unfair intrusion on liberty to make it the law. Don’t want a ticket?==Don’t DUI. The fact that friends and family wouldn’t let family drive drunk rather disposes of your arguemnt==society being family of a sort, the family of man.
In your BONES do you feel a sense of outrage you can’t drink and drive? Really????
I would feel outrage if my mother or myself or other close ones needed medical marijuana and were denied it. Don’t feel the same about purely recreational usage. Can you make a similar discrimination, or are you wrapped around the drug axle?
bobbo – The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that you’re just flamebaiting. My hunch is that you’re too intelligent to believe even half the drivel you’ve been spouting.
Nope, I’ve posted true to my thoughts.
Take one issue/statement apart to direct my attention==maybe I was sleepy. Not now, very sharp==you have 12 hours before my energizer bunny flags.
