It is absolutely normal practice in the EU and US to feed livestock, reprocessed animal and vegetable protein ground meal and pellets. Your hostile climates can’t support grazed stocking levels, high enough to feed your populations. Those pellets that they feed cattle, sheep, chickens, even salmon? Your guess is as good as mine as to where and what, that protein first derived from.

The article seems to infer that prior to the BSE scare 10 years ago, there was no law on the books outlawing this practice, and considering that they crafted such a law, chances are it was practiced then, since laws are commonly reactionary and not proactive. So this practice was OK then, but it’s not OK now, BSE and other health issues aside, due to religious reasons?
So does that mean that chicken could have been called Kosher even though the chickens themselves were chomping down on non-Kosher food? Thinking about it, it kind of makes sense, since fish is most certainly kosher, and many a’ fish eat un-Kosher foods such as shellfish.
Of course, this article doesn’t address the Jewish practice of being Kosher, it addresses the Muslim’s fear of being whatever the Muslim equivalent of un-Kosher is.
Then again, if there is such a large Muslim population that is so concerned about this, wouldn’t this be a great business opportunity for someone looking to capitalize on the idea of selling dead Chickens that haven’t eaten any Pork? Then you get the best of both worlds, Chicken farmers have a choice to lower their costs by buying the cheaper feed, and Muslims have a choice to pay more for their special diets. Everyone gets what they want.
It’s not like the EU is forcing all farmers to force feed pork to their chickens, right?

So Supplement Feed to animals, with MEAT, so they can sell GRAIN..

We choose to eat what we will, Allah really doesn’t matter to us. But if we eat some of the pig pellets Muslims won’t eat us so… I guess we be eating good and Muslims be not eating us. I really don’t have a problem with this. Now those bastard, bar-b-que’in , redneck Christians will be eating good and I do have a problem with that.
