COP SUES NYPD FOR STRIPPING OF BADGE AND GUN FOR BEING TOO RELIGIOUS – New York Post — This stuff writes itself.

A cop who allegedly once claimed to have seen a demon in Police Headquarters is suing the NYPD, saying brass stripped him of his badge and gun because he’s too religious.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Lt. Dominic Maglione, 44, says he has been placed on modified duty at Brooklyn’s 90th Precinct because of his “religious beliefs and practices.”

The NYPD’s “decision to remove [Maglione’s] badge and gun because of [his] allegedly ‘excessive’ religious practices violates the First Amendment,” the suit says.

Police brass said that they took away his gun after a psychotic episode in April 2006, and that he shouldn’t get it back because of the demon hallucination and troubling psychiatric diagnoses, including bipolar, mood, psychotic and delusional disorders.

This is just shameful. The devil does exist incarnate and walks among us. That poor cop is probably especially holly and thereby became a target of the horned one.

Still, when the devil is your main enemy, you really don’t need a gun. Prayers and incantations, maybe a squirt gun with holy water is all the guy needs to walk the streets.

    I hate the devil.

  2. Floyd says:

The cop needs to go on desk duty and get his meds adjusted, though the holy water squirt gun couldn’t hurt.

Another story about some religious nutjob. They’re alway entertaining, but my real question is: who’s the artist on the lead-in picture? It’s very interesting.

  4. Benjamin says:

They did not take away his gun because he was religious; they took it away because he is mentally ill. Imagine if he was off his meds and shot someone because he thought he was a demon.

A religious nutjob? No. A nutjob who uses the trappings of religion to excuse his illusions? More likely. I would not expect the anti-religious crowd at DU to be able to tell the difference.

The devil is inside each and every one of us. I guess if he were to be found outside the human psyche, an NYPD headquarters would be a good place to hang out, there and the pentagon.

Once you get labelled with Bi-Polar, you’re basically screwed for life. Even if you were normal once, the insane concoction of drugs forced upon you will make you worse than crazy.

Reminds me a bit of that Bill Paxton movie… Frailty I think.
