From the 60’s German series, Raumpatrouille Orion. Can’t you just hardly wait for the future to become today?

  1. Sierra says:

Why do they speak German in a French film?

    [Fixed. – ed.]

  2. hahnarama says:

Now’s the time on Sprockets when we dance.

  3. Faxon says:

Not much of a future if all the men are total fruits….

  4. mike from Illinois says:

it looks like the line dancing I see a lot of people do at weddings.

  5. Mr. Fusion says:

    HEY, German line dancing. WOW

  6. GF says:

Is this the G20 dance and ball? It’s so dreamy.

  7. chuck says:

    Ha. White people dancing. Funny.

  8. Ron Larson says:

My god… how did those dancers manage to keep a straight face during shooting? The two primary dancers in front and center seem to have smirks on their faces, like they are trying their best to keep from falling on the floor laughing.

  9. vicphillipson says:

Raumpatrouille Orion was a German series that debuted in 1966. It was about as campy and goofy as television ever got.

It’s sort of a right of passage to watch re-runs in the student union for german college students, sometime all night marathons.

  10. pokey says:

That’s just square dancing. They’ve just left their plaid and cowboy hats at home for the shoot.

    Credit where credit is due:
    #2 FTW

  11. WmDE says:

Dancing you want to watch from a distance

  12. The Monster's Lawyer says:

Would you like to touch my monkey?

  13. Miguel says:

I loved that series! Here in Portugal it was called ‘The Adventures of Spaceship Orion’, and we got to watch it after ‘Space 1999’ and ‘Star Trek’, I think.

I seem to recall a scene where pairs were dancing with their backs to each other…

I just bought the 3 DVD set on Ebay, I’ll check if my memory serves me well.

  14. FRAGaLOT says:

why do they call it square dancing when you go around in circles?

  15. JoaoPT says:

    Oh the memories, Miguel…

  16. Gasbag says:

    WTF?

  17. Miguel says:

And I find the dance quite cool 🙂

  18. Ah_Yea says:

It’s pretty funny that a German – French series would have the Germans calling the Alien menace “frogs”.

  19. Miguel says:

The frogs!!! Weren’t they some sort of glowing light beings or something like that? (Still haven’t received the DVDs 🙂

  20. How To Videos says:

OMG..that’s terrible. I am glad that people dance in other ways now!
