Talk about something the media has been trying to cover up. Unemployed youth are fed up and wrecking the place all over the UK. This has been going on for some time and has been massively supressed along with a lot of other bad news from Europe. This appears to have been shot last night.
from Brendan Bell

No covering up here in Europe as far as I (think) can tell.
This began three or four days ago (from what I saw in the BBC, CNN and Portuguese TV stations) and is now spreading to other cities in the UK.
My opinion is that it’s just a lot of steam that’s been building up (not only in the UK) and then something relatively small makes the whole situation go ballistic.
Maybe the beginnings of a new ‘French’ revolution, but in my humble opinion the politicians will get us a new war in Europe to settle everything down a notch or two…
I’d sure like to see riots in Lisbon. Maybe then I could get a free big screen LED TV 😀 That’s a sought after commodity in these riots, it appears (not only in your video).
So why were the kiddies rioting? Without interviews/analysis I would guess there was a crowd somewhere to begin with for some reason and a very small group of hooligans started acting out as hooligans will do and with no cops in the area, it just grew. Kiddies will do that, employed or not. Hard to get a political message out if no one is going to carry signs or start a chant.
Group violence seems to be on the rise everywhere. It’s easier to commit crimes with others and use whatever excuse suits your fancy to justify it. Cowards!
Yes. Pent up frustration. But what would it take for a leader to emerge or movement to begin?
FFS, this is stupid. These ‘young people’ have no morals and are unemployed because they’re lazy you can’t blame the economy, it the individual. I’m like 19, when I left school I must of applied for many many jobs but eventually I got one. You can’t just sit on your arse you’ve got to travel a bit to find a job.
It pisses me off that people’s lively hoods, homes, business are at becoming jeopardised because of these lazy, bored and stupid people. Not all young people are like this in the UK btw. Dvorak once said that the social loss of manufacturing has been lost in America. Well in families the loss to want to make a living has stricken the UK. Get off your ass and spend more than a couple of minutes trying to find a job. They’re out there, they’re just no so obvious.
Fuck this lazy rioters. They probably don’t understand what paying rent and other bills means, Fuck ’em all
I have to say, both the BBC and Sky have had wall to wall coverage and its been rather good so far. Not sure about the US news though, what I saw of fox was a woman sat in a studio talking about it (no ‘real’ on the street reports).
Looks like fun. Maybe we should do this in my town, which has high unemployment due in no small part to jobs/industry shipped to cheap locations overseas. And if we’re lucky, then maybe we can get the bank$ters at the World Bank to give the government a loan to pay us to rebuild! “Jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs; let’s Riot for jobs! Yaaaaay!”
Rioting and car burning on the outskirts of major French cities (usually by algerians imported for the same roles as cheap mexican labor in the US, but without any attempt to integrate them as is/was true in most european countries) is so common frequent that it has to go on for days at a time before the US media pays attention.
Britain is a severely dysfunctional nanny-police state. I read a news article several years back about a guy whose home was robbed repeatedly by gypsies. But by then the police had said they weren’t going to investigate house burglaries, and instead were going to concentrate on “more important” crimes, so he and every other home owner were SOL. This same guy accidentally shot one of the intruders during such incident (in his own home) while trying to scare them off because the police wouldn’t do crap. The home owner was arrested for shooting the burglar, and at the time of the news article, there was no indication in the article that the police planned to charge the burglars.
So it’s no wonder all the crime is happening in Britain. Nobody worries about being prosecuted unless a cop trips over them during a violent crime.
It’s the Broken Window syndrome writ large and wide.
What about the CostCo in Croydon?
Down the A23 near the airport?
Seems like a choice target!
Better grab the ammunition and food!
A couple of days ago, there was a police operation and the subject of the operation got shot. This is apparently not worthy of much news where you are, but it is a pretty rare occurrence in the UK.
The next day, family and “friends” went on a supposedly peaceful protest about it saying he was a lovely guy who wouldn’t hurt a fly. It got hijacked by persons unknown and things got broken and set on fire. This attracted other feral morons from around the city who supposedly coordinated their spontaneous activities by smartphone instant messenger.
The next night it spread to other areas and I saw on TV a whole troop of police horses charge against rioters. I don’t think I have seen that since for over 25 years.
Today this is “spontaneously” spreading to other cities and various of the elite have had to curtail their summer holidays to come back and talk to the press about it. That last bit will no doubt cause more anger in the corridors of power than all the destruction and suffering that has been visited on the peasants…
What about the Jewish Summer in Israel???
300,000 strong.
If I hit Google News from my phone the riots are the second story listed. If I go to NBC it’s the 4th story down. Yeah, a total coverup. Self-important much?
Lets not BLAME.. lets figure out a few of the problems..
#1.. If you lost your job, NOW..Could you find another job in LESS THEN 1 month? 2 months??
2.. Schooling..WHO is teaching these kids HOW, WHERE you look for a job. CITIES are a pain. CLOSEd environment.
3… SOME of you have learned of a few tricks..SHARE THEM. Going to industrial areas, and outskirt area..EVEN MOVING to a job.
4.. but, what do you say to an area, where industry is GONE..
5.. Start at the bottom?? Min wage?? CANT live on it…And the company generally will keep you AT LOW pay.
6.. Stand operating procedure.
HIRE/train 1 person, pay him abit more, and hire FLUNKIES at a lesser wage to do the jobs.
1 scientist(paid)/40 students(not/LESS paid)..
7. it was said 100 years ago. Industrialization/commercialization..will decrease the job market. The corps said it would never happen, that the jobs would be replaced by Other jobs to maintain the machines. NOT.
8. farming?? TOTALLY mechanized.
9. SALES?? 10,000 applications, say it will be awhile before you get one.
10.. you hear about the jobs, in other nations.. An interesting fact, is that the INDUSTRIAL JOBS, MIGHT use 25% of the whole populace in a country. And then 99% of the products arent USEd in that country(they get more money in the USA/EUROPE)
11.. For the cost of living in many other nations, you woul think the Quality of goods, would be Very high. But OUR corp mentality have gone over there. The OLD Japanese radio was a great product. It LASTED. not now.
#15 You left out the world’s oldest profession. Surely someone somewhere will pay to get laid?
So were these standard youths, or the ‘youths’ that have been rioting and causing problems in europe the last few years?
AND in the USA…
these are considered terrorists..
I wonder about the Old idiom..
When you do it to the indians, its a military conflict..
When the Indians do it to US, its SLAUGHTER.
Well, it’s obviously the Tea Party’s fault. There are so many douche bags on this site.
“This has been going on for some time and has been massively suppressed”
Maybe in the US, but not in Europe. It has been all over the news (Germany and UK) since day 1. Oh, and John C Dvorak, I like how you editorialize the motivations of those engaging in mayhem and looting: “unemployed youth are fed up.” As though there is some rational motivation for much of what is going on. Had it occurred to you that there is a substantial number of urban youth in the UK who simply like to don hoodies and engage in acts of mayhem and looting? I doubt the majority of these kids really are motivated by what actually started this in Tottenham: the police shooting of Mark Duggan.
Its the Burberry revolution!
Kids just want 40″ 3D plasma TVs.
Shoot one. Problem alleviated.
I thought this started because of a killing by a police officer? Then it just go overboard with the looting and rioting. In any case, I wouldn’t mind joining one here as I’m pretty pissed myself at the government.
As a general rule… if something happens in Britain, then it’s not too far away from happening in the US. We have plenty of angry frustrated (and in many cases, poorly educated) youth in the cities here as well. All it will take to start this here is the right spark.. and off to the races.. =/
The only difference is that the next big staged ‘terror attack’ will be falsely blamed on the Tea-Party. Because that’s how our government rolls.

Excellent points.
Bored, unemployed, frustrated, hormonal.
This is what a real revolution looks like. A preview of things to come here in the USA.
Hey, this IS happening here in the USA:

Unless you are starving to death being unemployed is no excuse to riot. You know why this crap is going on? Because there isn’t even agreement that rioting is wrong. Always excuses.
Maybe all of you who feel these kids are justified in what they are doing because they don’t have jobs should put your bongs down. Realize that if these stores have to spend a fortune repairing all the damage, that’s so much less money to hire people with.
Not enough police to go around… Could happen anywhere – except where gun control means hitting your target. In the LA riots in the US the rioters descended on Korean neighborhoods, and promptly drove away, because all the store and home owners were on their roofs with long arms (that means rifles and shotguns, for you hippies). Don’t have to fire a shot if they know you mean business in most cases, and when you do have to fire a shot, well, then aren’t you glad you were armed?
#29 Violent flash mob??
I think they stole a concept and are trying to change its meaning.
#30..
I KNOW there problem.
I understand whats happening, but it has NEVER interested me, when they get Violent and start breaking things.
The problem you REALLY have is getting attention. ADULTS and RICH really dont want to hear it.
Another problem comes with the 1 IDIOT that either CAUSES others to join or to have COPS called and a rally broken up because of 1 IDIOT.
TRY getting a license for a FRIENDLY protest…as a kid.
TRY to get them to DO IT TOGETHER..
TRY to get (POLICE/COP related group) the Federals NOT involved and try to break up a REAL PEACEFUL demonstration.
heres the thing – your all talkin out your proverbial asses.
how do i know? because im IN london.
the rioting started 3 days ago, not “some time ago”.
it has nothing to do with unemployed youths, watch or read a news story once in a wehile instead of picking lumps of whatever out of your ass, it started when an innocent young man was shot dead by police (this has happened more and more recently and people are tired of it) a peaceful protest was organised to object to police actions whereupon the police took it upon themselves to beat the living hell out of a 16 year old girl. THAT created the flashpoint and the continuing police overreaction is what is causeing it to continue.
i had a lot more respect for this site previously, silly me, i thought you actually verified your stories but it seems more like youve become a fox news subsidiary. making it up as you go along.
