Be afraid! If it can happen there, it can happen here!

Belarus has taken strong diplomatic action against Sweden following a stunt involving parachuted teddy bears. Sweden says all of its diplomats have been expelled from Belarus, which has also closed its embassy in Stockholm.

Belarus was angered when a Swedish public relations firm dropped about 800 teddy bears with pro-democracy messages from a light aircraft. President Alexander Lukashenko sacked his air defence chief and head of border guards over the 4 July incident.

    Those wild and crazy Sweeds!

  2. bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Sadly, I know nothing about the story posted here other than Belarus used to be part of the USSR? After that: Nada.

I catch only a glimpse of the real issues here only after reading about 3 paragraphs into the link.

Sweden acting to encourage political Freedom in a country not contiguous to it? Admirable.

What has Hillary said/done about the KGB still operating to suppress individual freedom in Belarus?

Nothing you say????? What a good job she is doing.

    • moniker says:

Why should Hillary concern herself with Belarus? They haven’t got any oil and there’s no need to run a pipeline through the country either, so there’s no reason for her to be interested in Belarus.

Lukashenko is a wanna-be Putin and they are both wanna-be Stalins.

  4. Uncle Patso says:

This was a brilliant move on the part of the Swedes. The more paranoid and power-hungry Lukashenko gets, the easier it is to push him into ridiculous actions like this. He will now forever be known as the man deathly afraid of cute, cuddly teddy bears. I foresee dozens of sarcastic cartoons of him huddled in fear under his bed as a cute, cuddly stuffed toy on the bed exudes love. I can see lots of satirical SF with invading teddy bears being battled by those Russian nesting Babushka dolls.

Lukashenko is now an international laughingstock.

    Brilliant!

  5. NewformatSux says:

Perhaps Sweden should launch some teddy bears in the rest of Europe as well.

Rather Snarky comment, funny too if you can identify the dots you are thinking of?

I’m thinking you’re thinking just the opposite of what any thinking person actually thinks?

      but prove me wrong?

Silly Hooman “thinking” that freedom is expressed by having a lack of social and human services made available to them in a free society.

…..but thats just what liebertards DOGMATICALLY chant.

  6. orchidcup says:

    Teddy Bear bombs.

Now we are making progress in international relations.

Next up: Belarus launches Beanie Baby counteroffensive on Sweden.

I hope this does not escalate into a food fight.

Watching “The Ed Show” on the Romney caused the Death of the laid off employee and his staff person gaffing by saying the person would not have died in Romneys Massachusettes…. forgetting or not caring that Mitt the Middle Class Destroying Vulture is running on revoking Obama Care.

The Teddy Bear is often used as a symbol in America for various HealthCare Programs…. to advertise access, to raise money for programs and such.

Yes–America could be well served by a Teddy Bear Drop over the swing states and for all the same reasons Sweden Dropped on Belarus.

    DEATH TO ALL TYRANTS.

    RICH = CRIMINAL
    ROMNEY = RICH.

    Its mathematical.

  8. cd barber says:

Wait till the TSA hears about this… No Teddy bears allowed on aircraft.

    • moniker says:

The Swedes are already on to it. They realised their plane was full of deadly, lethal teddy bears and had to dump them all at once, as soon as possible. Better safe than sorry.

  9. Cap'nKangaroo says:

The two countries should settle this over a “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” game.

    Look for the bare necessities,
    The simple bare necessities,
Forget about your worries and your strife,
    I mean the bare necessities,
    Of mother natures recipies,
That bring the bare necessities to life.

    Wherever I wonder,
    Wherever I roam,
I couldnt be founder of my big home,
The bees are buzzing in the trees,
To make some honey just for me,
When you look under the rock for plants,
Take a glance at some pantsy ants,
    Then maybe try a few.

the bare necessities of life will come to you,
    they’ll come to you.

    look for the bare necessities,
    the simple bare necessities,
forget about your worries and your strife,
    i mean the bare necessities,
thats why a bear can rest at ease,
with just the bare necessities of life.

now when you pick a paw paw,
    or a prickly pear,
and you prick a wrong paw,
    well next time, beware,
dont pick the prickly pear by the paw,
when you pick a pear, try to use the claw,
but you dont need to use the claw,
when you pick a pear of the big paw paw,
Have i givin you a clue?

Don’t worry… Its the snake eating its own tail.

There is no reason to get alarmed.

Losing Wall Street trades are merely causing the devaluation of Wall Street assets.

This paper loss will get swept under the slave children woven Iranian and Pakistani rugs of other Wall Street firms.

      Nothing to see here…

Deowll… You’ve got it all wrong! Not knowing jack about a topic is the main requirement when posting here, as this post proves!

  16. Riel says:

Teddy bears have been used as a symbolic way to campaign against evil doings. People will surely know what the problem is since teddy bears are very popular all over the world.
