Since we are the only ones here…when I got that RAT infection, I finally stopped using the infected hard drive and pulled out an older one with an earlier copy of the same OS. I got a “No mbr” Black Screen. Its taken about one week to fix the mbr with a generic windows repair disk I downloaded years ago. The Aoemi and another Partition Manager “Fix MBR” function did not fix it.
I also installed Ubuntu on a Flash Stick and will be making it live in good time. If I can find some good video editing software and video transcoding software, I could well move to Linux on the next big infection. I “feel” no difference in Websurfing which is mostly what I do. In fact, my system did not stutter or stall at all with 12 websites open whereas Windows does…while I’m transcoding, so it is different.
Always something to keep us busy. I see the Pro Cop position is coming on VERY strong. Is it just me, or does getting smashed in the face and the criminal runs away and you shoot him–thats excessive force and a manslaughter rap for you and me?
It makes me want to vomit that there is justification because the cop has to protect himself “first”? so as to justify their shoot to kill first policies. Its a problem that causes itself.
