The Protest…

Black-clad protesters gathered in front of Dartmouth Hall, forming a crowd roughly one hundred fifty strong. Ostensibly there to denounce the removal of shirts from a display in Collis, the Black Lives Matter collective began to sing songs and chant their eponymous catchphrase. Not content to merely demonstrate there for the night, the band descended from their high-water mark to march into Baker-Berry Library.

“F*** you, you filthy white f***s!” “F*** you and your comfort!” “F*** you, you racist s***!”

These shouted epithets were the first indication that many students had of the coming storm. The sign-wielding, obscenity-shouting protesters proceeded through the usually quiet backwaters of the library. They surged first through first-floor Berry, then up the stairs to the normally undisturbed floors of the building, before coming back down to the ground floor of Novack.

Throngs of protesters converged around fellow students who had not joined in their long march. They confronted students who bore “symbols of oppression”: “gangster hats” and Beats-brand headphones. The flood of demonstrators self-consciously overstepped every boundary, opening the doors of study spaces with students reviewing for exams. Those who tried to close their doors were harassed further. One student abandoned the study room and ran out of the library. The protesters followed her out of the library, shouting obscenities the whole way.

Students who refused to listen to or join their outbursts were shouted down. “Stand the f*** up!” “You filthy racist white piece of s***!” Men and women alike were pushed and shoved by the group. “If we can’t have it, shut it down!” they cried. Another woman was pinned to a wall by protesters who unleashed their insults, shouting “filthy white b****!” in her face.
From Dartmouths website:

Standards of Conduct

Standard I

Students and student organizations must not engage in behavior which causes or threatens physical harm to another person or which would reasonably be expected to cause physical harm to another person “consensual” or not.

Examples of such behavior include but are not limited to:

conduct which places another in reasonable fear for his or her safety or in danger of bodily harm;
use or threat of physical violence or injurious conduct (whether directed at another, at oneself, or at an object);
dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking

Administrators immediately called for swift and decisive disciplinary action against these thugs. Just kidding, they are actually hiding behind there desks frozen in fear.

Some African Americans don’t correctly take advantage of the multitude of opportunities available to them in this country.

Case in point, yesterday around 2 PM I called the police at home because 2 African American women were arguing in the street and one of them was banging things around and saying she was going to kill the other one.

If you treat everyone with courtesy and respect, things go well.

If you don’t do this internally, trying to blame an outside scapegoat is a harmful activity that seeks to make-believe causes while preventing focus on the solution.

  4. NewFormatSux says:

Dartmouth’s charter is unique in that half of the board of trustees are to be voted for by alumni. Several years ago, someone ran as a write-in candidate and won beating the administration’s hand picked guy. Then the next year two more write-ins won, all with an emphasis on free speech and stressing academics. At that point, the administration engaged in an illegal reshuffling of the board to diminish the alumni’s share. There was a lawsuit by the alumni association which would likely have won, so the administration then tried to get new people elected to lead the alumni so they would drop the lawsuit. They had all the contact information and won that election easily, and the board has been changed.

The link above being broken, I found the video on YT. It was certainly a rude and offensive group. I didn’t see any examples of the defamatory speech written about above. It seems so extreme as to be unbelievable. It was unusual not to find any video evidence, what with a cell phone in every pocket, and a camera in every cell phone. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but if it did, it was followed by an extraordinary censorship effort.

I’m sure that the students trying to study in the video were left with the strong impression that “BLM” – but in a negative way.

  6. NewFormatSux says:

White student is going on a hunger strike on their behalf. Considering that it is wrong to say “All Lives Matter”, seems the administration would be wrong to care about this student.

Whining, immature schoolkids wasting the old man’s 529 tuition money.

Hypocrisy of the highest order: Let me have sex, get abortions, use drugs, and indulge at will. But please mommy, daddy, and Dean Wormer, give me a safe place to hide from the real world, and please protect my tender ears and mind from opinions that differ from mine.

Would you hire these whining, high maintenance doorstops to work at your place of business?

  8. Dummy says:

Sure! Black Lives Matter. But so too are the lives of those poor quiet souls there trying to do work in a LIBRARY!

If black lives really do matter then why not protest in a place where black lives are in jeopardy? Like a prison or a jail! …Or, and here’s a completely new tact I’m sure those leftist lemmings couldn’t think of, how about a COURTHOUSE?!

    Like I said, MORONS!

  13. MikeN says:

Update, the guy at University of Missouri who claimed to have heard some white guys in a pickup truck yell racist stuff at him, has apologized for making stuff up about how the KKK is on campus and he is working with state and federal police on the matter.

Also, the ‘poop swastika’ which was a third incident to cause an uproar, has a suspect in the case, a black guy who was seen yelling insults about Jews. Seeing the victim is black, the incident has been downgraded from hate crime to tampering.

So the only remaining incident is a guy under the influence who walked into a rehearsal for a black group’s homecoming dance who yelled at them.

  14. Martino says:

    And there’s this:

Emmanuel D. Bowden, 21 faces charges for making a false report or threat of terrorism, a felony that could put him behind bars for 20 years, according to MLive.

Saginaw Valley State University police said Bowden posted that he was “going to shoot every black person I can on campus. Starting tomorrow morning.”

A police report says the student later posted “It’s a joke,” and said that he was black.

    A movement built on bullshit.

  15. Dobro says:

Weird that there appear to be no black students studying in the library
