Obama Smiling Cartoon

Dvorak Uncensored Exclusive!

Everyone knows that the party who doesn’t have the presidency loses seats in the midterm elections and therefore everyone THINKS the REPUBLICANS are going to gain seats. But the Obama administration and the DEMOCRATS have a surprise for the REPUBLICANS! Their SECRET PLAN is now REVEALED!

Obama is going to announce that he’s going to CHANGE PARTIES and become a REPUBLICAN! That way the party in power will be the REPUBLICANS and the DEMOCRATS can run against the establishment!

Realizing from recent polls that voters have SHORT MEMORIES, the Dems think they can pull it off. After all, the voters and the political pundits have proven voters can’t remember back two years ago. A recent poll asked voters, “Do you think that ignorance and apathy are major problems in America” – 90% of voters responded, “I don’t know and I don’t give a damn!”

After the election Obama will change back to being a Democrat and no one will remember it ever happened. Republican strategist Frank Lutz said, “Republicans should be worried. A plan this wacky just might work.”

Remember – you heard it here FIRST on DVORAK UNCENSORED!

  1. JMRouse says:

Clinton enjoys a great economy and a surplus and Reagan gets the credit. The Economy goes down the tank and shows no sign if recovery during all 8 of the Bush years and it’s Clintons fault. We would hear this over and over from sources like FOX New and other conservative media.

Obama was President for less then 3 months before I heard the same sources blaming the job market on him and calling Progressives out for the “blame Bush card.”. The hypocrisy is absurd.

  2. MikeN says:

We have been concerned that the Administration’s legislative proposal regarding the GSEs would weaken affordable housing performance by the GSEs, by emphasizing only safety and soundness. While the GSEs’ affordable housing mission is not in any way incompatible with their safety and soundness, an exclusive focus on safety and soundness is likely to come, in practice, at the expense of affordable housing.

The above is from a letter sent by Democrats to President Bush in 2004.

  3. Hmeyers2 says:

The government has entirely failed us.

Don’t transfer power back to the states, those have failed us too!

Transfer power back to the municipalities. That’s the only hope that remains.

  4. Counterweight says:

Vote Jeb Bush & Liz Cheney 2012!

  7. JMRouse says:

Again, I ask all the conservatives here. When will it be right for your party to take some blame? Everything that went wrong during the Bush years were blamed on Clinton. Over and over again I heard that, even up to Bush’s last days. Here we are, only two years into Obama’s administration and it’s wrong to place some of the blame for our economy and jobless rate on the former administration?

When? When will your party acknowledge some fault?

  8. Guyver says:

    39, JMRouse,

Everything that went wrong during the Bush years were blamed on Clinton. Over and over again I heard that, even up to Bush’s last days.

To my knowledge, I have never heard Bush blame anything on Clinton while Bush was in office.

Here we are, only two years into Obama’s administration and it’s wrong to place some of the blame for our economy and jobless rate on the former administration?

Obama has been quite candid about blaming the “previous 8 years” in a number of his speeches. He’s got a different style of “leadership” and what would refer to as responsibility.

In other words, his failures are not his fault.

Regardless of who is president, presidents have little to no direct influence on our economy except for tax policies. Congress is the most influential in how our economy sinks or swims.

Speaking of jobless rates, do you suppose raising taxes on those making more than $250k will help to reduce the jobless rate or do you suppose it will raise it as small job providers (those making $250k or more) will reduce their staff?

As for Republicans taking responsibility for their actions, I do hear a lot of them being quite candid their spending. So what exactly are you looking for?

  9. Guyver says:

    33, JMRouse,

Obama was President for less then 3 months before I heard the same sources blaming the job market on him and calling Progressives out for the “blame Bush card.”

No one is saying he didn’t inherit a mess… what people are criticizing him about are the choices his administration and the Democrat-controlled congress are making that only makes matters worse.

    >> the choices his administration and the Democrat-controlled congress are making that only makes matters worse.

Let’s have a little reality check:

    a) The private sector job loss when Obama took office was 700,000 jobs LOST per month. Last month there were +60,000 private sector jobs GAINED.

    b) The TARP was put in place by the previous administration in order to rescue the economy that had crashed under their leadership. Obama had to implement and create new emergency measures for problems inherited by the previous occupant of the white house.

    c) Afghanistan was basically ignored, and America was on the clear path to defeat. Things are starting to stabilize (except for religious morons on both sides trying to make things worse again). I will skip the fact that the the Iraq war is basically over as far as the USA is concerned.

    d) The housing market had collapsed, with prices dropping precipitously right before Obama came into power. Between 2006 and 2009 housing prices dropped 30%, and have been basically stable since that time. MOst housing problems now are basically the ‘long tail’ of the Bush years.

    e) The stock market was pure shit. Have you forgotten that the DOW hit 7000 in Feb 2009, and has improved by 50% since that time?

    f) The Unemployment rate has risen by 2 points in the last 2 years, but rose by 3.5 points in the 3 years immediately before Obama.

    g) The National debt increased just as much under Bush in his last 2 years as it did under Obama in it’s first 2 years.

    h) Several National industries went bankrupt under Bush, plus let us not forget Enron.

I could go on, but I guess that I have made my point.

So, how exactly is the Obama administration making things worse than they were in the prior 2 years before he took office?

Please provide specific examples of things that went worse in the last 2 years compared to the last 2 years of the Republican administration.

  11. Awake says:

    Correction to my #42 above

b)… inherited by the previous occupant of the white house.

    should read

b)… inherited from the previous occupant of the white house.

    #38 Guyver –

A more recent poll (first week of Sept 2010):

71% of Americans hold Bush accountable for today’s economic woes.

In a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Friday through Sunday, more than a third of those surveyed said George W. Bush deserved a great deal of the blame for economic woes and a third said he should get a moderate amount of it. Not quite another third called that unfair, saying Bush warranted not much or none of the responsibility.

    ===

You do the math…. assume that all Republicans support Bush, and all Democrats support Obama, canceling each other out… that means that almost 3/4 of all independents blame Bush for today’s economic woes.

    1. The “Conservative Media Machine” (i.e. talk show hosts like Rush and the talking heads on Fox News which started broadcasting 3 years into Clinton’s first term) did. Can I recall Bush himself doing it? No, but I never made that specific claim.

    2. What is he supposed to do, take all the blame himself? He inherited a one of the worst economic depressions in years. Is it so wrong for him to mention the administration that caused it?

  14. Badcam says:

    Yet another inane Perkel post.

Get rid of this guy Dvorak! His post is meaningless drivel and he hasn’t even bothered to correct his first sentence mistake. None of this guys posts are up to the standard of the rest. Ditch him, for goodness sake.

    Brilliant Mike… brilliant.

That’s the best that you can do to support the theory that Obama is destroying the country?

All you can do is choose two items that say that at worse he is is still doing better than the last guy, and ignore all other positives.

Let’s face it, you have nothing… just nothing.

Even for you your response was pretty lame, you have to admit that.

  17. MikeN says:

So if the unemployment rate goes from 5% to 55% under Obama, then the Repblicans come in and make it a 100% unemployment rate, can I say that the Republicans are doing better than Obama?

  18. @FRAGaLOT #17 “…Americans SEEM apathetic is because the media keeps reporting bullshit fluff stories about meaningless crap.” The reason the MSM ro as La Palin calls it the “Lame Stream Media, continues to report the frivolous drivel is that they have no moral compass, nor have they values to base their decisions on. That goes for the “suits” as well as the rank and file street reports…no morality…no value in judgment. Journalism is a craft not a profession.

  19. Awake says:

    #49

No Mike, you can’t, because your scenario does not mesh with reality.

    a) Republicans worsened unemployment by 3.5% over 2 years.
    b) The increase in unemployment was running at 700,000 per month at the end of the Republican administration.
    c) Unemployment has increased by 2% over 2 years under the democrats.
    d) Job losses were 70,000 last month, with a 60,000 job gain in private industry.

So no, you can’t take a positive scenario and twist it into a negative one, no matter how hard you try. And doing so is just plain slimy on your part…

The current administration has taken a steeply climbing curve in unemployment and basically flattened it out. You know that. You can not deny that.

You have become one of those people that will lie, deceive, twist the truth as much as possible just because of your political affiliation, and that kind of person deserves ZERO respect in the view of honest people.

  20. Guyver says:

I just made a response but it was flagged as spam and I was instructed to contact that blog admin… but I see no such link.

  21. MikeN says:

Really an increase of 2% is flattening the curve?
