Now how creepy was that!
From the man who wrote and directed “The Avengers”, “Firefly” and “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” comes a political endorsement not many have considered.
Thanks, Icarus

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The woman named “Democrat of The Year” this year by the Jefferson County Democratic Party has been convicted of felony theft by a Jefferson County jury for stealing from a developmentally disabled 71-year-old woman.
“The jury did right,” said Cindy Maxwell, an advocate for the victim. On Thursday, a jury convicted 66-year-old Estelle Carson of felony identify theft and felony theft from an at risk adult for stealing checks from the woman and using them to pay her own cable, cell phone and internet bills. The victim is partially blind, developmentally disabled, has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. She is on a fixed income of $596 per month according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
Nearly as bothersome as the theft itself to Maxwell and other supporters of the victim, is the fact the Jefferson County Democratic Party was made aware of the ongoing criminal investigation and honored Carson anyway. According to documents obtained by CBS4, in November of 2011, the Jeffco Democratic Party announced it planned to honor Carson for her activism on behalf of Democratic causes and her efforts to register voters.
Perhaps there is a Nobel Prize of some kind in her future….
I say that when a TV reporter shoves a mic into your face and asks your your comment, ask the reporter if they get paid to do this. Then ask why you don’t get paid for this commentary. Don’t work for free!

Read the whole article to find out how to always become ‘eligible’ for the TSA Pre-Check to breeze through TSA security.
The way TSA Pre-Check works is the organizations that participate transmit travel information for passengers who opt-in to the program to the TSA. Then the TSA in a way that randomizes security determines if the passenger is or is not eligible for Pre-Check and sends that information back to the Airline. The Airline then encodes that information in a barcode that is on the boarding pass it issues.
The problem is, the passenger and flight information encoded in barcode is not encrypted in any way. Using a web site I decoded my boarding pass for my upcoming trip.
(Reuters) – Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.
The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.
The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.

Tale of a slave revolt put down.
Andrea Fornella Abbott, a mom who refused to allow TSA screeners to pat down her 14-year-old daughter, was found guilty of disorderly conduct and sentenced to one year of probation by a court in Tennessee. […] A police report stated that Abbott would not allow her daughter to be “touched inappropriately” or have her “crotch grabbed.” Abbott also refused to submit to a full body scan because she did not want her (or her daughters’) naked body revealed by the scanner.
The police report noted that she attempted to take cell phone video of the incident, but was stopped by the TSA screeners. When police arrived, Abbott reportedly cursed at them and called the TSA screeners “pedophiles.”
[…]
A video of the incident, shows that people just walked around Abbott and no lines were held up.
Think Siri is a little spooky? Then you won’t like contextual intelligence, a capability researchers are working on to make phones too smart for their own good.
Oliver Brdiczka, a manager at PARC, is working on contextual intelligence. The research, he hopes, will allow enterprises and the government to use data that is accumulated as we use our mobile phones. The data mined from our email messages, Facebook conversations, and sensors in the phone can be used for a variety of purposes, including intelligence, marketing and app design, even employee relations. In other words, owning a smart phone with this capability will be like having a spy ratting out your thoughts to the government.
For instance, PARC is working on a project that predicts a person’s personality through their online behavior. The idea, Brdiczka said, is to market this data to enterprises, who want to know people’s intent for targeted advertising or developing content customization.
Psychological models also can be extracted from the sentiment of emails and conversations on Facebook, noted Brdiczka. The government could use this information to determine if people are depressed or suicidal or have malicious intent.

The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill has removed the word “freshman” from official university documents, citing as their reason an attempt to adopt more “gender inclusive language.” We are “committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community,” reads a statement administrators sent to Campus Reform on Monday. “Consistent with that commitment, gender inclusive terms (chair; first year student; upper-level student, etc.) should be used on University Documents, websites and policies,” it continues.
A spokesperson for UNC declined to further elaborate on the university’s reasoning for implementing the language change. Some students, however, expressed discontent over the change in policy. Brandon Hartness, Executive Vice Chair for the school’s college Republicans chapter, told Campus Reform he feels the university is allowing political correctness to drive their decisions.
“I feel like they are making a big deal out of nothing,” said Hartness. “Girls are not going to deem the word [freshman] as sexist.”
I cannot think of a more important issue plaguing America today…how about you?
