Lets start another war in Iraq – 3rd times a charm?

There are a lot of people wanting us to go back into Iraq yet a 3rd time. “We need to take control or the price of oil and gasoline will go up.” So I’m thinking that after spending trillions of dollars on war why don’t we spend that money on solar power and battery technology instead. Why don’t we use that money to invent a battery that can go 1000 mile on a charge instead of just 250 miles. If we did that we could even power our car with coal and be cleaner than gasoline.

But the best part about solar is that we don’t have to go to war in the middle east and give all than money to Muslims. We could just sit back and watch them kill each other like we do in Syria. Solar not only is cleaner – but it reduces war and terrorism.

It’s come to this. We’ve now had so many mass shootings that entrepreneurs see space in the market for a bulletproof blanket, made specifically to shield small children from gunfire.

Led Zeppelin Sued for “Lifting” Intro to Stairway to Heaven

“Late in 1968, a then new band named Led Zeppelin began touring in the United States, opening for Spirit,” the suit states. “It was during this time that Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin’s guitarist, grew familiar with ‘Taurus’ and the rest of Spirit’s catalog. Page stated in interviews that he found Spirit to be ‘very good’ and that the band’s performances struck him ‘on an emotional level.’ ”

One of the causes of action for the suit is listed as “Falsification of Rock N’ Roll History” and the typeface in the section headings of the filing resembles that used for Led Zeppelin album covers. According to claims in the suit, “Parts of ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ instantly recognizable to the music fans across the world, sound almost identical to significant portions of ‘Taurus.’ ”
The estate is seeking court ordered damages and writing credit for California, born Randy Craig Wolfe. Part of the defense includes a printed interview conducted with California prior to his death from drowning in 1997. In the 1997 interview with Listener Magazine, the guitarist claims that some of the music from “Stairway to Heaven” was taken from his group’s song.

“Well, if you listen to the two songs, you can make your own judgment,” the lawsuit quotes the interview as saying. “It’s an exact … I’d say it was a rip-off. And the guys made millions of bucks on it and never said, ‘Thank you,’ never said, ‘Can we pay you some money for it?’ It’s kind of a sore point with me.”

In a May interview with France’s Liberation newspaper, Page said of the claims “That’s ridiculous. I have no further comment on the subject.”

DARPA says its “Z-Man” program is all about developing “biologically inspired climbing aids to enable warfighters to scale vertical walls,” but let’s be real. This project is about creating an actual Spider-Man.

The agency claims to have created technology that allows a 218-pound man carrying an additional 50 pounds in weight to scale 25 feet of vertical glass, a trick that’s undeniably great for both superheroes and pop stars of previous generations.

The program actually takes its design cues from spiders and geckos, engineering synthetic versions of the biological awesomeness that allows them to climb just about anything.

One of the things I hate is Nannyware – systems that feel they have to warn you when you’re not being politically correct. And Google’s Android is no exception. First they started with the “unplug your charger to save electricity” even if you were using a solar powered charger. Now it’s “Listening at a high volume for a long time may damage your hearing”.

I just upgraded my Motorola RAZR M (XT907) to Kitkat and the warnings started. Fortunately I found a way around it and it should work on all phones. There’s a setting that’s internal to the phone what sets the volume % threshold. And I found an app that sets it.
