(CNSNews.com)- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) told a recent gathering of the Women’s Political Committee that the spirits of suffragists Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul spoke to her at the White House.
Pelosi said she heard them say: “At last we have a seat at the table”. A video recently posted on Youtube shows Pelosi speaking in May describing her first meeting with President Bush in the White House after becoming part of the Democratic House leadership. In the video Pelosi says, “He’s (Bush) saying something to the effect of we’re so glad to welcome you here, congratulations and I know you’ll probably have some different things to say about what is going on–which is correct. But, as he was saying this, he was fading and this other thing was happening to me.”
“My chair was getting crowded in,” said Pelosi. “I swear this happened, never happened before, it never happened since.”
“My chair was getting crowded in and I couldn’t figure out what it was, it was like this,” she said.
“And then I realized Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, you name it, they were all in that chair, they were,” said Pelosi. “More than I named and I could hear them say: ‘At last we have a seat at the table.’ And then they were gone.”
Hooboy!

Be afraid! If it can happen there, it can happen here!
Belarus has taken strong diplomatic action against Sweden following a stunt involving parachuted teddy bears. Sweden says all of its diplomats have been expelled from Belarus, which has also closed its embassy in Stockholm.
Belarus was angered when a Swedish public relations firm dropped about 800 teddy bears with pro-democracy messages from a light aircraft. President Alexander Lukashenko sacked his air defence chief and head of border guards over the 4 July incident.
There are some things in life, when you are in your 60’s, to avoid.

I’m an Android user and I don’t really have any experience with iPhones and quite frankly I’m biased towards Android for a number of reasons. And I’m a geek so I’m not the right one to judge the “easy to use” test because it’s usually easy to use anything that works. There are also a lot of Android phones out there so it would also depend on which one you compared. For example I like the Motorola droids better than Samsung.
So – I keep hearing people say that iPhones are easier for “normal” people to learn. So skipping everything else, I’m looking for opinions from people who have significant experience on both phones. Is it true? Are iPhones really easier than droids? the question assumes that users are going to be somewhat heavy users. Lets assume that besides making phone calls the user is going to do these activities:

There comes a point where the government goes too far and people have to just stand up and say no. One of those situations is jaywalking laws. Gilroy is a little town 20 miles south of San Jose. It’s just 50k people and the main drag through downtown is Monterey st. This is one of the areas where they want to outlaw jaywalking.
The road is a little 2 lane road through the old downtown area. Traffic in the area is slow and the street isn’t very wide. But California governments have what I consider to be a toxic culture of wanting to pass more and more laws to manage every aspect of our daily lives. There is no reason for this law except it’s kind of a monkey see monkey do copy of jay walking laws in other California cities. If this were San Francisco I could understand it because they have a pedestrian culture there who is too stupid not to walk out in front of cars.
So – I think that Gilroy should direct it’s slim resources to filling pot holes and delivering city water which is in my view is the primary duty of government. I would rather see the city police focus on gang related problems and not busting people walking across the street. I also think that general oppression of freedom laws causes people to become more stupid and will result in lowering the IQ of the city. We citizens need to push back against this government culture and keep the focus on pot holes and not looking for new ways to keep the sheep in line.
Some day our children and grandchildren will look at this video and remember the time when someone could just walk across the street when they want to without California telling me I can’t.

There’s been liquorized candy forever. What foods would you like to have imbibed before you do?
Cancel all lunch plans and make way for Liquor-Infused Panini from Salumè (pdf menu), just a few Italian sandwiches that also happen to be sauced up, available now.
This was inevitable. The polygamous marriage of mortadella, cave-aged cheeses you’ve got to pronounce in a hearty Italian accent and the distinct taste of the grappa dripped over the meat. Yes, dripped over. It’s not some complicated process of slow-cooking that burns off all the good stuff. They simply take a medicine dropper and make your sandwich alcoholic.
Presented as a stark contrast to the many fawning songs about Obama done in 2008.
As you all know last night the Mars rover Curiosity landed successfully. Here’s a picture of the 3 rovers all together sent to me last year by one of the NASA scientists. Click image to enbiggen.

At first I thought it was Steve Ballmer. The video ended abruptly probably because TSA goons stopped him from taking photos.
