If National Guard recruiters want to keep sponsoring Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s racing team, the U.S. House is willing to keep providing millions of dollars for the right to back No. 88.

These folks are getting the outsourced jobs — Do you think they trust Bain?

As Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney faces a withering attack over outsourcing and layoffs by his former firm, Bain Capital, employees at a Bain-owned company are appealing to Romney to stop their jobs being shipped overseas…

The plant’s employees are calling on Romney to use his influence with former Bain colleagues to keep the plant open.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A man famous for having one of the largest penises on record said he was frisked by TSA agents at San Francisco International Airport after they suspected he was hiding something in his pants, according to his Twitter account.

New York native Jonah Falcon, 41, reported on July 9th that he was returning from a weekend in San Francisco when he was delayed by TSA agents who became curious about the bulge in his pants.

“TSA didn’t know what to make of the massive bulge on my thigh. Even after I went through that body scanner that shows you naked,” Falcon said on his Twitter page.

Which begs the question, why didn’t the naked body scanner detect this when apparently it could be seen from Google Earth?

Gloria Taylor, a Canadian, has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Over a period of a few years, her muscles will weaken until she can no longer walk, use her hands, chew, swallow, speak, and ultimately, breathe. Then she will die. Taylor does not want to go through all of that. She wants to die at a time of her own choosing.

Even Molly Wood makes an appearance.

Now that’s the entrepreneurial spirit that made America the country it is today! Read about her here.

Samsung Galaxy S3 colours

This is a not so good review of the Samsung Galaxy S III cellphone. I bought one Saturday and I’m probably going to return it later today for a refund and reactivate my Motorola Droid X. Maybe some of you can talk me out of it. The interesting thing is that the Samsung Galaxy S3 gets glowing reviews everywhere and I will say up front, ALL THE STUFF IN THE GLOWING REVIEWS ARE TRUE.

So – you are asking – if this is such a great phone, why am I thinking about returning it?

A wide-ranging surveillance operation by the Food and Drug Administration against a group of its own scientists used an enemies list of sorts as it secretly captured thousands of e-mails that the disgruntled scientists sent privately to members of Congress, lawyers, labor officials, journalists and even President Obama…

Time for a field trip for those in Texas, Kansas, etc who don’t believe evolution exists?

Using a process called paleo-experimental evolution, Georgia Tech researchers have resurrected a 500-million-year-old gene from bacteria and inserted it into modern-day Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. This bacterium has now been growing for more than 1,000 generations, giving the scientists a front row seat to observe evolution in action.
[…]
“The altered organism wasn’t as healthy or fit as its modern-day version, at least initially,” said Gaucher, “and this created a perfect scenario that would allow the altered organism to adapt and become more fit as it accumulated mutations with each passing day.”

The growth rate eventually increased and, after the first 500 generations, the scientists sequenced the genomes of all eight lineages to determine how the bacteria adapted. Not only did the fitness levels increase to nearly modern-day levels, but also some of the altered lineages actually became healthier than their modern counterpart.

With this latest crap, why do people want to vote for this guy? Of course, you could say that about Obama, too…

The latest defense seems to be that Romney is not responsible for anything that happened in Bain because he “retroactively retired.” However, many voters might have a problem with Romney excusing himself from Bain’s actions through a legal technicality like retroactive retirement. If he is elected president, Romney will not have the option of “retroactive retirement” to take away any of the bad effects from his presidency.

“If you’re signing an SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission] document with your own signature that you’re the president, C.E.O., chairman of the board and 100 percent owner of a company, in what world are you living in that you’re not in charge?” Cutter said Sunday on “Face the Nation.”

“If he wasn’t the head of it, who was?” she asked.

Over 20 people fainted during this speech in Roanoke, Va., probably from his “awesomeness”.

More like this please….intelligent, respectful, a public servant.
